Admittedly, he'd seen portraits of the prince that his father was going to try to set him up with: the youngest child of 13 older brothers. He was cute, though, and from the reports he spied on, he was also witty and charming. Quite intelligent, too. So perhaps this wouldn't be such a bad thing. Besides, any way to get out from under his father's thumb would be a victory. If he had to, he supposed he could also run away more easily from this place, too.
Adjusting the small tiara on his head, he idly considered selling it when his father's back was turned. For now, after making a big show of dropping his coin purse, he made his guard pick it up while he booked it down an alleyway, wanting to explore alone for awhile.
The uproar and getting bitched at would be worth it, he decided. Once he was certain he'd lost his guard, he meandered the streets with a keen eye, stopping at yet another stall to flirt with a rather cute merchant woman who had set up shop closer to the castle proper. Absently, Ren adjusted his dress and batted his long eyelashes at her.
"But certainly a lovely lady like yourself is just fine as she is!"
Pulling some coins from a sleeve he'd set up high on his leg, he paid her for a small bouquet of flowers, only to give her one back with a smile - a lady orchid.
"For milady, who grows such lovely flowers!"
Still avoiding his guard (what luck!) Ren kept looking around and passing out flowers to those how caught his eye, also keeping out for that prince he'd seen in portraits alone.
Oh! There was a cute boy near some stables! He decided to chat him up, too, remarking at how pretty the horses were, among other things. The young man was obviously a bit flustered, seeing Ren's royal garb, but soon the "princess" had him wrapped around his pinky in excitement to tell him all about those horses.
