And to be fair, she was telling the truth - it only took a few minutes. With one last "burp", the whirlwind ended, and a large raven flew out of the purse, taking his place on his special wooden perch.

"There. I'm all set."

There was a cauldron over the fireplace, magic tomes next to Donald's mystery books, and a few extra cobwebs in addition to... well, the usual cobwebs in Donald's house.

Looking around, he couldn't help grumbling. "Well, make yourself at home, I guess," he muttered sarcastically. Honestly, there weren't exactly a lot more things she'd added. And it was a small price to pay for not having to move. But that wouldn't stop him from grousing a bit anyway.

"There's one last addition to make." She announced, and headed for the window. She stuck two fingers in her mouth, and made a high-pitch whistle.

After a minute, Ratface flew into the house, cawing loudly.

Donald had to duck, just barely avoiding the bird that swooped over his head. "Seriously?" he grumbled. He wouldn't even let the boys have a pet.

She gave him a glare, with Ratface using the TV as a perch. "What are you complaining about now? Haven't you ever heard of a witch's familiar?"

"Considering you're the first witch I've ever really met? No." Still, with another huff, he shrugged. What else could he do? "Just as long as you're cleaning up after him."

"Of course I will! He's like family... without the annoying, overbearing, think-they-know-better-than-you-attitude."

Ratface blinked at Donald, giving him a good sniff before poking his fingers with his beak.

A bit surprised by that, he drew his hand back a bit. "Well, that's a plus, I guess."

Magica began to move around, making sure everything arrived safe and sound.

"Don't mind him, he just wants to be pet. He can be a bit spoiled."

Glancing at her, he then glanced back at the bird before looking back at Magica. "...can I pet him?"

She hesitated for half a moment - but then relented. "All right, if you want to."

Turning back to Ratface again, he then held out his hand, waiting to see if the bird even still wanted him to pet him.

Oh yes he did - he nuzzled against Donald's open hand, making little clicking noises.

Magica huffed. "Oh, I spoil you too much, Ratface."

Despite how strange this all was, Donald can't help smiling a bit as he pet him. "...Why 'Ratface'?"

An eyebrow raise. "Why not? He's as cute as a rat!"

He paused a moment, then decided that it would be better not to comment. "How long have you had him?"

"Ever since I was a child. I practically raised him. Every witch has a familiar, surely even you know that!"

"I mean, I've heard about witches and familiars. But I don't know what that means?" And really, he'd never thought he'd needed to know until now.

Well, she supposed as long as they were living together, it'd be important for him to know.

"It's like a live-in servant, but with a deeper bond. They're our confidant, someone to bounce ideas off of while they help gather ingredients."

"Yeah? Where do witches get their familiars? Do choose them for yourself, or is one given to you?"

"We choose them ourselves." Magica did a little whistle, and Ratface immediately flew over to sit on her shoulder.

"Oldschool traditions usually say a cat is best, but how can you resist that face?"

Donald couldn't help a slight chuckle. "Yeah...I guess he is pretty cute." He was certainly growing on Donald.

"I trust you'll make sure your... children... will treat him well?"

He winced a bit, then cleared his throat. "Nephews...and yeah, I'll make sure they take care of him."

"Bah, semantics." A wave of her hand. He was raising them, taking care of them, that made them his children. And hers too, unfortunately.
