She was so warm now she was starting to wonder if she'd suddenly undergone malaria. Her body may have been relaxing - save for a thudding pulse starting between her thighs - but her mind certainly wasn't. Her head was spinning as she helplessly found herself unable to move or speak coherently.

"Or, uh... it's... you know... the..."

He chuckled, and she could likely feel the sound rumbling in his chest due to her back leaning against it.

"Having trouble coming up with excuses?"

He then leaned in to ruffle the feathers of her neck with his beak before he placed his beak close to her ear.

"Would you like me to stay tonight?"

Magica bit down on her lip, terrified of the possibility of giving him an answer. But she couldn't completely kill the response, resulting in a little muffled whimper, her body shaking like a leaf.

And that was precisely what he was after. He wrapped an arm around her, palm flat to her stomach, and murmured, "Told you so."

It was like being being hit with a bucket of ice water.

"I'm going to murder you and make it look like an accident."

Scrooge snickered as he released her, getting up and giving her a saucy little flick of his tail feathers for good measure. "Lucky for me, you can't do that until after this charade is over with unless you want your magic to backfire on you."

"I'm starting to think it would be worth it!" She snapped, grabbing a pillow to throw at his head.

He tilted his head out of the way as he laughed. "Looking forward to tomorrow night~!"

"EAT ALL THE BUGS, SCROOGE MCDUCK!" She threw every pillow at him she could find, before heading to the bathroom for a long, cold shower.

Scrooge snickered as he shut the door, hearing the repeated whumps of pillows smacking into the wood.

Honestly, that had almost been too easy.

...And perhaps it had been a bit nice to see her turn to putty in his hands...

Finally, it was the day of the wedding. Even if Scrooge had somehow forgotten, Adelia had gone above and beyond in celebrating the day - the entire mansion was covered in flowers. Every last inch.

Magica resigned herself to her room, if only for that ridiculous tradition of not seeing the groom until the last moment.

Technically they'd already broken tradition: Scrooge wasn't supposed to see her in her dress until the wedding. Still, he agreed to maintain what was left of tradition for the sake of the fairy. The blonde romantic would've gone nuts.

He put on his good tuxedo with the red satin cummerbund. It was well-made and had seen quite a bit of usage over the years, meaning it was quite comfortable to wear.

The official documents would be signed sealing the marriage but Scrooge had slipped in a few extra lines. He doubted anyone from Magica's side of the "family" would bother to read the license and see it had a built-in nullification after one week unless both parties agreed to sign a more permanent contract.

The children were dressed - forcibly so, by Adelia, in embarrassing fluffy dresses and suits - and the last preparations were being made. Granny was with Scrooge, dabbing a handkerchief to her cheek even though no tears had yet to flow.

"To think, before the sun sets, my little granddaughter will be a wife." Sniffle sniffle. "And to be honest... I had my doubts about you."

"Oh?" That was a surprise. Many people would've considered Scrooge quite a catch. "And why's that?"

"Well, you have been at each other's throats for some time now." She glanced at him out of the corner of her eye. "It seemed rather suspicious that after all this time, after all her insults and attempts at the dime, you suddenly propose."

"... But when I heard about the red dress, all my doubts cleared up."

Scrooge awkwardly chuckled. "Well, things can always change. Though why did the dress convince you?"

"Because you had it made for her!" She answered with a happy sigh, hand to her chest. "Oh, we of the magic, we can make outfits with a snap of our fingers. Disguises are among the first spells we learn. So to make a gift, to spend money and material and time... that tells any witch and warlock how you really feel!"

It also might have explained Magica's... reaction.

That record scratch she just heard? That was Scrooge's brain as his thoughts ground to a sudden halt.

"Oh...Magica never told me."

A divorce wasn't going to be necessary.

Granny raised her eyebrows, confused, but easily settled back into cheerfulness. "Maybe she just assumed you knew, since you two seem to know each other so well! I know you're going to take excellent care of my granddaughter now, since you made such a clear display of your feelings for her. Why else make that dress?"

So, to sum up - he had (accidentally) played with her emotions, and then (on purpose) played with her body.

'Til death due them part may be a lot shorter than any of them figured.

When they were alone tonight, he was going to demand why she hadn't said a blasted thing about the "making her things" part. As if he knew about the courting rituals of witches and warlocks!

Granny clapped her hands. "Well, I think everyone will have been dressed right about now. We're seconds away from the ceremony!" She slapped his shoulders. "Let's get you in place so you can see your blushing bride and speak your vows!"

"Sounds great."

Oh dear gods, this entire scenario was becoming even more of a nightmare.

He followed Granny's lead to his spot and waited awkwardly. Well, this was it. Definitely not how he would've predicted he'd find himself at the altar.

Now the "entire" family was there, most of them reluctant to be here just as much as Scrooge.

The organ music began to play - wait, where did a self-playing organ come from?! Adelia of course!

Eventually, in came Magica - who was using every ounce of strength to look neutral instead of wishing for his death. Her hair had been tied up in a braid, with violet flowers twisted in.

Scrooge had to admit: Magica did make for a lovely bride. Though he would've felt red flowers would've been better to go with the red of the dress.

He watched her walk towards him, being careful to keep a calm expression on his own face. Let the witch side think what they would.

Magica came to his side, managing to keep up the act. Just a few sentences, and this would be over...

"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today..."

Rosolio began bawling. Granny silently reached over to shut his beak.
