Scrooge walked into the room, shutting the door behind himself. "Saw the light. What're you working on?"

There was no accusation, just curiosity. She seemed serious about upholding her end of the bargain after all.

She pulled out her wooden spoon to tap it dry on the rim. "Anti-dream brew. Makes sure you don't have any dreams for a week straight, if don't right."

"Really?" Scrooge asked, intrigued.

Honestly, a week without dreams--good or bad--would be a godsend sometimes.

"Dream potions are especially easy to make. All it really does is make helpful suggestions to your mind." She moved over to a table to pull out something particularly leafy.

"I get customers who want epic love stories with film stars, old ones who want to relive fond memories, and the occasional idiot who thinks they want to predict the future."

"Personally I'd prefer a solid night's sleep without any dreams," he told her.

She glanced over at him. "I'm almost done. You can have some, if you want."

She headed back to the cauldron, dropping the leaves in and letting them dissolve.

"I'll pay you for it," Scrooge offered. "How much for the dose?"

It only seemed right given she was likely making it to sell.

"Five thousand dollars."

She sold it for just five.

"Nice try. Actual retail price?"

"One thousand."

"Try again," he said with amusement.

"One hundred."

Scrooge clicked his tongue. "How stupid do you think I am?"

"You are no fun." She grumbled. "Five."

"I don't like being cheated," Scrooge told her as he reached into his pocket for his wallet. He pulled out a five dollar bill, pausing for a moment before holding it out to her.

She took it with two fingers, before going to a different table and replacing the bill with a potion bottle.

"You can afford to be cheated." She dunked the bottle into the cauldron, making sure it filled entirely.

"Doesn't mean I want to be cheated," Scrooge countered.

He watched her fill the bottle. Not that he didn't trust her to short change him (well maybe a little) but just because it was somewhat fascinating to see her actually working at something.

"You're lucky I'm giving you any at all, considering you're keeping that photo." She growled, popping a wooden cork into the top of the bottle.

"It's a very nice photo of you," Scrooge said smugly. "Why wouldn't I keep it?"

There went her cheeks again. "You're just keeping it to humiliate me!"

"I'm not going to post it online if that's what you're worried about," Scrooge said with amusement.

The blush was actually somewhat interesting. Did she actually feel complimented by what he'd said?

"I know you wouldn't sink that low," she crossed her arms, turning away. "But you're keeping it for yourself, so you can laugh at me whenever you want!"

"Maybe, maybe not."

He pulled out the photo, looking at it again. He mused for a few moments and decided to see how she'd react when he told her:

"I wasn't lying downstairs."

Her fingers twitched, it was clear she was moments away from trying to snatch it from him.

"Don't be dumb, I know you were just trying to make our... 'thing' look real in front of Granny."

He tucked the photo away again, making a mental note to hide it and lock his bedroom door before she got any ideas.

Rather than confirming or denying her words, he held out his hand. "So may I have my potion now?"
