He just had to see her humiliated personally, didn't he? Her hands curled up into fists - if she rejected, Scrooge would make her pay, no doubt.

"Fine. Go get him." She growled, turning away.

The tailor scurried out, returning a moment later with Scrooge.

The amount of smug pleasure radiating off of him could've powered Duckburg and the surrounding area for decades.

"Well, let's take a look at you."

She refused to look at him - she'd rather die than live with the image of his joy at her misery. Her entire face was so red, it began to match the dress.

"Happy now?" She grumbled, clutching her arms. "Rub it in. Get it over with."

As she turned to face but not look at him, Scrooge blinked.

She looked...different. Good different.

'This is bad,' he thought to himself.

Magica had always been Magica, the witch who was after his Dime. Just like with the photograph (though perhaps to a greater extreme), he was forced to look at her and acknowledge that she wasn't just a witch: she was an attractive young woman.

And he was likely old enough to be her grandfather. At best.

"Looks nice," he offered, trying to sound flippant.

... Looks nice? He wanted to embarrass her, but just went with "looks nice"? He was a master wordsmith, sharper than the sharpies, he could do better than that!

"That's it?" She slowly turned her head to look at him, eyebrow raised. "That's all you wanted?"

"Aye," Scrooge said with a smirk, trying to seize control of the situation. "Expecting me to swoon, Magica?"

The tailor was looking back through the box and realized something. "Miss, you forgot the collar!"

"...The what now?"

Oh, hell no. At least she was going to have control over this.

"I AM NOT PUTTING THAT ON! BURN IT! TRASH IT! STRANGLE YOURSELF WITH IT!"

"But it's part of the dress!" the tailor said, appalled.

"I want to see this," Scrooge said, crossing his arms with a smug smirk. "And given I'm paying for it..."

Well, he let the obvious threat of having her pay for it dangle.

Magica inhaled sharply through her beak. She stormed up to Scrooge, and grabbed a fistful of his robe. "When this is over, I'm not just going to settle for your dime - I will find a way to make YOUR EVERY WAKING MOMENT A WHIRLWIND OF PAIN AND AGONY, SO MUCH THAT YOU WILL BEG FOR THE SWEET RELEASE OF THE GRIM REAPER! DO YOU HEAR ME, SCROOGE MCDUCK?!"

Then she dropped him, and went to the white box to pop on the collar.

"Looking forward to it," Scrooge told her, thoroughly enjoying her little tantrum, safe in the knowledge that she couldn't do a damn thing to him until this whole charade was over.

That was Future Scrooge's problem.

"The collar?"

Ding-a-ling.

Magica turned around, trembling with rage, as the red collar had... a small golden bell.

Scrooge's grin was a mile wide.

"Belling the cat," he said instantly. "How perfect."

"You must think you have nine lives to say that." Magica was already trying to rip it off.

"I think the phrase is 'you only live once'," he said, voice cheeky.

Then, without thought, he added, "It looks nice on you."

Her fingers stopped mid-rip. "Excuse me?"

"The collar looks nice on you," he repeated. (Well, he was already in too deep...)

"... You enjoy mocking me, don't you." Because clearly that was he was doing, and he didn't mean it. This time, she managed to yank it off completely. "Now can I take this damned dress off?"

"I'm being serious. Gods forbid I give you a compliment," Scrooge told her, huffing as he turned his back to give her some privacy. "Aye, you can change once this lady's finished with the alterations."

"Then hurry up!" She crossed her arms, turning away from him in turn. "Get this altered and then get out."

"Yes, ma'am!" the tailor squeaked, immediately going to work.

Scrooge started heading towards the door. As long as Magica was fully clothed, it wouldn't matter if he opened it long enough to leave.

Magica clutched herself, hating every minute of this. He must really hate her to enjoy sticking her in this dress, the sadistic bastard. She couldn't comprehend any other reason for him to do this.

Pretending to be in love with him for the wedding was now going to be extra difficult.

"You look wonderful," the tailor told her, hoping to cheer her up. "He was blushing."

"He was not."

She paused, then glanced over. "Was he?"

The tailor gave a little giggle and nodded her head. "He was."

"... What a dirty old man." She glanced away, playing with her hair a little.
