 One of the disadvantages of immortal youth was that it sometimes limited her options. If she wanted something fresh and young, she needed to be where the fresh and young people where, and gods, their music was awful. What happened to the good old days of violins and organs?

So imagine her surprise as she viewed the buffet to find one snack that looked older than most. She raised an eyebrow - he didn't seem to be in any midlife crisis. The exact opposite, in fact - like if he had any real choice, he wouldn't be here. Well... she could fix that for him.

She licked her lips, and then made her way across the room. A gorgeous beauty like her, it was like parting the ocean waves with a hand. She was by his side within seconds, sizing him up.

Nice, very nice. He even smelled delicious.

"Congratulations, you're the most miserable person here, and I think that includes the janitor."

"If not, I can always learn them while you're gone. You can have your own personal concert when I return."

He paused, trying to rifle through all the songs he's heard over the years.

"After the Ball" came to mind, but he dismissed it. He didn't need reminders of Goldie. He needed something that was purely Magica...

She didn't rush him, and resumed snuggling, placing her head on his chest. Ah, the beautiful rhythm of a heart-beat. Sometimes she forgot what they sounded like, given that her own stopped years ago.

"Loch Lomond," Scrooge finally settled on. He then gave a rueful chuckle. "Stereotypical but I've heard it butchered so many times, it'd be nice to hear it properly sung.

"Loch Lomond," she repeated to memorize it. "I'll make it worthy of your love." For the song, she meant - love in a romantic sense was something foreign, she wouldn't even know if she felt it.

He took her hand and kissed the back of it. "You're more than worthy of it."

His love would likely be a paltry prize, to be honest.

"Flattery will get you everywhere, darling." One kiss to his neck. "Besides... I do miss singing for an audience."

"You'll always have an eager audience in me," he told her softly.

She nuzzled a few feathers on his neck back and forth. "A standing ovation every time?"

[richestduck]

"Of course. And a bouquet of roses," he told her with a small smile.

"That'll get a guaranteed encore." A soft chuckle, resting her head again.

"I suppose I'll have to think of a piece I'd like to hear you perform as one," he told her, picking up his wine and taking a long sip.

Magica still needed her meal which meant he needed to get good and drunk. To be honest, it was tempting to ask if she had more than just the one bottle in the house. He was still pretty upset about having to leave her behind.

She had plenty, if he only asked. For now, she laid on him, nearly purring like a content cat. "I'll be sure to practice plenty while you're gone."

He drained his glass, setting it down before finishing the last of his food.

"I look forward to seeing the results of all your practice."

He didn't bother to refill the glass, picking up the bottle by the body and drinking directly from it.

She glanced up, noticing how fast he was drinking, and frowned. He hardly needed to get sick, especially not for her sake. "Don't go making yourself ill, darling."

He took one last swallow before lowering the bottle. He stroked her hair with his free hand.

"I'll be all right," he assured her. "I won't be as bad as a month ago."

Back then he'd lost count of how much he'd knocked back and then thrown up.

"Depending on where I'm at once I finish this one, I might need a--hic!" He waited a moment, but no more hiccups came. Probably a one-off...for now. "Might need a second helping."

"I'll get you another, just in case." She gave him a quick kiss, beginning to get up. "Don't rush it. We have all night."

"All night and most of tomorrow," he reminded her.

He'd have to sober up by then and do some light packing, but otherwise he was ready for his trip.

Once on her feet, she affectionately ruffled the top of his head before leaving the room.

It only took her a handful of minutes to return with a nice cold bottle, ready to refill his cup. "There we are. You know, you can ask more of me."

"Just being here with me is more than enough."

She would know the reason why, too: It all came back to his family.

"Yes, yes, I know, darling." She lightly touched the cold bottle to his cheek for a bit of teasing. "Must you stay in the dark? A beautiful woman throws herself at you, and you can't think of anything extra you'd like her to do?"

He reached out to pull her close to him, nuzzling her.

"This is enough for me," he told her honestly, his body flush with hers.

She was here. That was all that mattered.

Too sweet for seduction, it seemed. She sat on his lap, draping her arms over him.

"I wonder if you'd ever accept that from me."

[richestduck]

He looked at her, feeling her weight on his lap and the feel of her nethers so close to his.

"I would," he told her honestly.

[blackmagicduck]

"So, if I didn't take this pretty bracelet," she teased, holding out her wrist, "and said all I needed was you, you wouldn't be mad?" Not that she had any intention of giving it back.
