Pass the test, t-taste the flesh (scrooge x magica)

 One of the disadvantages of immortal youth was that it sometimes limited her options. If she wanted something fresh and young, she needed to be where the fresh and young people where, and gods, their music was awful. What happened to the good old days of violins and organs?

So imagine her surprise as she viewed the buffet to find one snack that looked older than most. She raised an eyebrow - he didn't seem to be in any midlife crisis. The exact opposite, in fact - like if he had any real choice, he wouldn't be here. Well... she could fix that for him.

She licked her lips, and then made her way across the room. A gorgeous beauty like her, it was like parting the ocean waves with a hand. She was by his side within seconds, sizing him up.

Nice, very nice. He even smelled delicious.

"Congratulations, you're the most miserable person here, and I think that includes the janitor."

He followed her obediently. Honestly, he just wanted to curl up wherever and get some sleep.

"How is it that you drinking from my neck's almost refreshing compared to this?"

She sat him down and began grabbing whatever she could from the cabinets. She still wasn't a real master chef by any meaning of the word, but he needed something shoved down his gullet.

"I still fail to see how you suffering helps your company."

He sat down at the table and propped his chin up in one hand.

"Me going along with all this helps smooth over the hit to the company's reputation, meaning we can continue to do business in Germany and the rest of the EU without issue. Otherwise we'd likely have to sell off our EU branches to local owners and pull out of the EU entirely which could displace all my workers here, interrupt supply lines elsewhere, etc. If I don't bend the knee occasionally to their ludicrous political grandstanding, a lot of people could lose their jobs and their homes."

Sandwich, she could make a sandwich, right? Just meat and sauce and bread, slap it together.

"And yet all the people you're grandstanding to can afford to eat proper meals and get a full night's rest, I wager."

[richestduck]

"They're not the ones in the hot seat. They can soak up the praise from their sycophantic followers for 'holding Scrooge's feet to the fire' or some such nonsense. Never mind the fact that I had nothing to do with the smuggling."

She finished up a hefty sandwich before digging around for a drink - water, maybe, he was in no mood for booze.

"Do you ever get thanked for this?"

[richestduck]

"Why? I'm the boss. It's my job to take the hit."

Scrooge could feel himself start to sag. If he wasn't careful, he was going to faceplant onto the table.

She placed the sandwich on a plate in front of him along with the glass of water.

"Because if they're not grateful, they don't deserve you."

[richestduck]

He picked up the sandwich and slowly took a bite.

"It's good," he told her. "Thank you."

[lifesa_witch]

"Eat the whole thing, and you're welcome." She came up behind him to rub his shoulders.

[richestduck]

"I will."

He slowly did as she asked, periodically pausing to sigh with relief at how she worked out the kinks in his shoulders.

"You're too good to me," he told her softly, reaching up to take her hand and kiss the back of it.

"I am," she agreed, giving his cheek a nuzzle. "If only you were that good to yourself."

[richestduck]

"I think I could learn for you," Scrooge told her, "but I think I'd rather spoil you."

Whatever good had been growing inside of Magica because of his influence got a huge strike due to the word "spoil".

"Do go on." She purred, arms slipping around his neck from behind. "Or are you just trying to distract me so you don't eat?"

[richestduck]

He wanted to keep her around, and if it took throwing money at things she wanted, so be it. He didn't want to go back to being alone, to coming back to an empty home with no one caring if he'd skipped lunch or how tired he was.

He saluted her weakly with his sandwich before taking another bite. When he swallowed, he asked, "What would you want?"

"I do love my bracelet." She let it jingle a little before she resumed snuggling. "Maybe something to match? You do know how to make a girl look good."

[richestduck]

"Earrings? A necklace? Both?" he asked.

[lifesa_witch]

"I've never been fond of earrings... but you must admit, I do have a gorgeous neck."

[richestduck]

"Very gorgeous." He tilted his beak to kiss it before taking another bite of his sandwich.

[lifesa_witch]

She stroked his head, running her fingers through feathers. "But that's for another day. Tonight, you'll have a nice, long sleep."

[richestduck]

"I won't argue with that," he told her. He sighed as he relaxed under her stroking. "You planning to go for a night flight while I get some sleep?"

[lifesa_witch]

"I flew during the day. I want to watch you sleep." That was not meant to be creepy.

[richestduck]

Fortunately, he didn't see it as creepy anymore. It was just how she was, after all.

Perhaps they were both sick in the head.

"All right."

[lifesa_witch]

"Good boy." A kiss to the cheek, and she resumed rubbing his shoulders, making sure he had every last crumb.

[richestduck]

He did just as she wanted, drinking down the water as well. He then got up from the table.

"Part of me's tempted to take a soak before bed, but there's only so much time to get things done before I have to leave in the morning."
