Pass the test, t-taste the flesh (scrooge x magica)

 One of the disadvantages of immortal youth was that it sometimes limited her options. If she wanted something fresh and young, she needed to be where the fresh and young people where, and gods, their music was awful. What happened to the good old days of violins and organs?

So imagine her surprise as she viewed the buffet to find one snack that looked older than most. She raised an eyebrow - he didn't seem to be in any midlife crisis. The exact opposite, in fact - like if he had any real choice, he wouldn't be here. Well... she could fix that for him.

She licked her lips, and then made her way across the room. A gorgeous beauty like her, it was like parting the ocean waves with a hand. She was by his side within seconds, sizing him up.

Nice, very nice. He even smelled delicious.

"Congratulations, you're the most miserable person here, and I think that includes the janitor."

It was tempting, to give him the bite and all the gifts it would bring... Maybe he'd wake up and be grateful.

... But she couldn't. She couldn't rob his freedom, like her own had been so violently taken away. She sighed sadly, closing her eyes.

"If I'm not allowed to be sad, you aren't either," he said with a weak smile.

"It's contagious." She countered, ruffling his cheek feathers with her beak.

He hummed.

"I suppose we need to get out of the bath, don't we?" he asked.

At the very least to have him falling asleep and drowning.

"I suppose we must."

She rolled her shoulders, and began to climb off and over him.

[richestduck]

He followed her lead, placing his hand on the small of her back for a moment. Oh, he wished he could enjoy her physical presence more, but he did have to work very early the next morning. Curse it all.

She glanced back at him with a smile at the touch. She grabbed a white fluffy towel, taking her time to rub herself dry. "I think we'll sleep well tonight."

He nodded. "I always sleep better with you."

Which was the truth. The nightmares didn't plague him as much when she was around.

She wrapped her towel around him. "Then let's get you to bed. You look ready to fall over."

[richestduck]

"I feel ready to fall over," he admitted, leaning into her. "Maybe once this is over, I can arrange for us to stay an extra day or two. Let me take you away for once."

[lifesa_witch]

"Aren't you sweet." She tapped his beak. "That would be nice... I'd love to have you all to myself."

[richestduck]

It would be nice to give her a chance to get away from the world. Though where would they go? He'd let her decide, he supposed.

He climbed into bed beside her, pecking her on the cheek in a chaste kiss.

"Thank you again for coming all this way."

"Of course, darling." She snuggled her head right under his beak. "We'll never be apart for too long. I swear it."

[richestduck]

He kissed the top of her head, settling down with a sigh.

"Still too good for me," he told her with a tired chuckle.

[lifesa_witch]

"Get some sleep, Scroogie." She closed her eyes. "I'm not going anywhere."

[richestduck]

"Mmm. Goodnight, Magica."

He hugged her a bit more tightly to his chest as he dropped off to sleep, snoring a bit in her ear.

Magica slept with him, content. Her body was slowly beginning to crave blood, but for now, she was able to control her thirst. She wasn't close to starving yet.

And very early the next morning, he carefully started extricating himself from her. Not that he wanted to get up (he definitely didn't) but if he wanted to get all this over with, he needed to get up and get moving.

He regretted that.

Again, it was so astoundingly early that Magica bolted right up when he felt him move. "Ugh...!"

"Sorry," he told her. "Go back to sleep, my dear."

[lifesa_witch]

She shook her head, eyes spinning. "Easier said than done..."

[richestduck]

She didn't look well. He instinctively placed his hand against her forehead, remembering belatedly that if she somehow had a fever, he likely wouldn't be able to tell.

"Are you all right?"

[lifesa_witch]

"Just a little hungry, darling." She laid back down, not wanting to worry him. "I'll be all right."

[richestduck]

His mind flitted through the possibilities.

"When I get back, I'll order some protein for dinner. Then you can have a meal," he told her. "I don't want you starving, and a steak should help replenish me afterwards."

She glanced over - was feeding her the only way to feed himself? Well, she wouldn't say no to that.

"A nice little dinner date. I like it."
