 One of the disadvantages of immortal youth was that it sometimes limited her options. If she wanted something fresh and young, she needed to be where the fresh and young people where, and gods, their music was awful. What happened to the good old days of violins and organs?

So imagine her surprise as she viewed the buffet to find one snack that looked older than most. She raised an eyebrow - he didn't seem to be in any midlife crisis. The exact opposite, in fact - like if he had any real choice, he wouldn't be here. Well... she could fix that for him.

She licked her lips, and then made her way across the room. A gorgeous beauty like her, it was like parting the ocean waves with a hand. She was by his side within seconds, sizing him up.

Nice, very nice. He even smelled delicious.

"Congratulations, you're the most miserable person here, and I think that includes the janitor."

"I'll try to restrain myself." Then, unable to resist, "Unless you'd prefer to."

"It might be interesting but I don't think I'm up to being successful at it," he told her honestly.

"We'll try it another day." She playfully touched his beak before starting to flounce towards the bathroom.

He smiled softly after her. He really was lucky that she'd picked him out as her snack. And the fact that she'd liked his blood enough to keep coming back to the well.

In the bathroom, Magica began to run the water - no fancy oils here, she'd have to go out and get them for another time. For now, she began to take off her dress, hoping the warm water would make her cold touch less disturbing.

Even if it didn't, Scrooge was adapting to the cold feel of her body against his. Besides, he had no doubt that the water would be warm enough for them.

"All set in here," she called out, once she was comfortably in the tub. Even if it would just be snuggling, this would feel ever so nice.

He stripped down and climbed into the tub after her, sighing at the warmth of the water and the softness of her body.

"Much better..."

[lifesa_witch]

"I agree." She came in close, resting her head on his shoulder.

[richestduck]

He leaned his head against hers, once again wanting nothing more than for time to stop so they could spend an eternity like this. He didn't want to leave her embrace, be away from her touch.

Blast his need to be responsible.

Every so often she kissed his lips, his neck, his shoulder, but didn't press for anything more. He needed his rest, and she didn't want him to collapse in the tub.

He burrowed his beak through her feathers, giving her a light preen. For the most part, however, he just held her close, not wanting to let her go.

"Are you feeling better?" A light murmur.

[richestduck]

He nodded. "I always feel better when you're around. Thank you."

[lifesa_witch]

"Funny enough, I could say the same thing."

[richestduck]

He rested his head against her chest, sighing in contentment. He almost feels...happy...again. When was the last time he'd felt that without needing an altered state of mind?

Magica closed her eyes, and began to hum her usual song. She had to be careful and not sing for too long, to make sure he didn't fall asleep to it.

He leaned into her, idly preening her neck feathers with his beak. He loved hearing her sing. It was always so calming...

She stroked his head as she lightly sang, watching him with sheer adoration in her eyes. She likely had no idea how she looked.

The adoration disquieted him a bit. He'd seen that look before on little ducklings' faces who grew up to leave him behind one way or another.

He rested his chin on her shoulder, closing his eyes to try and block out the memories.

Now that she noticed. She frowned, knowing she could do little to quell his mind - aside from enchanting him, and that was a no-no now. "You can never really stay in one place, can you."

"I'm sorry," he mumbled. "I'm trying. I just...remember. Too many things."

[lifesa_witch]

"A long life can be a blessing and a curse," she sighed. "What did I do?"

[richestduck]

"Oh, lass, it wasn't your fault," he told her before kissing her cheek. "I just remembered a pair of little ducklings who used to look at me as if I were the greatest man in the world at the wrong moment."

"But memories don't just pop out of nowhere. Did I say something to bring it up?"
