Pass the test, t-taste the flesh (scrooge x magica)

 One of the disadvantages of immortal youth was that it sometimes limited her options. If she wanted something fresh and young, she needed to be where the fresh and young people where, and gods, their music was awful. What happened to the good old days of violins and organs?

So imagine her surprise as she viewed the buffet to find one snack that looked older than most. She raised an eyebrow - he didn't seem to be in any midlife crisis. The exact opposite, in fact - like if he had any real choice, he wouldn't be here. Well... she could fix that for him.

She licked her lips, and then made her way across the room. A gorgeous beauty like her, it was like parting the ocean waves with a hand. She was by his side within seconds, sizing him up.

Nice, very nice. He even smelled delicious.

"Congratulations, you're the most miserable person here, and I think that includes the janitor."

He hesitated in letting her go, not wanting to be separated from her. His smell on her was intoxicating in its own way.

Still, his stomach gave another loud growl of protest which prompted him to let her go.

She gave him one playful smirk before leaving. Moments later, she returned with several sandwiches on a thick plate - look, she hadn't needed to cook in years, sandwiches were always a safe bet. She also brought along a bottle of water, as she doubted his body could handle booze right now.

"How are you feeling?"

"Starving and tired," Scrooge answered honestly. "I don't think I ever noticed before due to the massive hangovers."

He took the first sandwich and began chewing slowly, not wanting to bolt down the food and make himself ill.

"How was your night?"

She settled beside him, watching him carefully just in case.

"Quite beautiful, thanks to you... you've made our lives so much easier. Now I don't need you to be completely sauced before I have a meal... you don't have to get sick for me anymore."

[richestduck]

He smiled softly. "If I might make a suggestion though, it'd be best if the bite itself was fast. Then you could take your time while drinking." He flushed a bit. "I find the drinking part rather pleasant but that slow bite wasn't."

"My apologies, darling." She frowned, feeling a bit of guilt. "I must admit, it was very new to me. I've rarely had willing partners... ones who wanted to be bitten."

[richestduck]

He shook his head. "No need to apologize." He nuzzled her with his beak for a moment. "You couldn't know. This is a learning experience for both of us."

She smiled, and leaned on his side, content. "I'm glad I learned with you... and only you."

[richestduck]

He gave her another nuzzle before resuming his meal. Sandwiches were a staple for him: they were quick to put together and didn't require anything special to eat.

She closed her eyes, needing nothing more than his presence. In an odd way, she couldn't wait to see him in Germany - surely his happiness would be double, tripled, quadrupled to see her there! His expression would be beautiful.

Scrooge was most certainly not looking forward to Germany. He would have to work insane hours to be able to go home in a reasonable time frame.

Her offer to turn him came back to him, and he entertained the fantasy of staying here with her for all eternity momentarily. However, as he finished his second sandwich, he allowed himself to relax and let the thought drift away.

"We still have plenty of time," She finally said, hugging his arm. "We can do anything you want, if you have the energy for it."

[richestduck]

"Just this for right now is good," he told her. "I like just...being here with you."

It was tempting to say "snuggling" but likely it would've earned a laugh from how silly it sounded.

Had he said it, she would have found it cute and given him all the snuggling he wished for. As for now, she laid her head on his shoulder. "I like it too. I've never felt more at peace."

Scrooge remembered times when he'd felt at peace: surrounded by family and friends, napping with one or both twins sleeping with him when they were little...

He breathed in her scent, trying to shove the memories back into the locked chest in his head where they belonged.

She could see the pain in his face, and gently touched his cheek. "Stay with me, darling, stay here."

[richestduck]

"I'm trying. Really, I am," he told her apologetically.

But the real world kept knocking at his door and that box of bittersweet memories refused to stay locked and buried.

She turned his head towards her to give him a kiss. "I know you are. I'll pull you back each and every time."

[richestduck]

He hugged her tightly, kissing her back and closing his eyes. He focused on her scent, the whisper of her hair brushing against her shoulders, the feel of her body against his...

She kissed him over and over, trying to make him stay in the present. She cupped his cheeks, sighing on his lips in-between breathes.

Finally, he relaxed as the real world once more returned to lurking in the background. He could focus on her now properly.

"Thank you," he murmured.

[blackmagicduck]

She smiled, rubbing her beak into his whiskers with great affection. "I'll always be there for you, darling."

[richestduck]

He gave a soft chuckle at that before fluffing her neck feathers with his beak. Each time he heard that, it got a little easier to not just outright dismiss it. He wasn't entirely sure he believed it, but a step forward was a step forward.

She giggled quietly, slightly ticklish. She ran her fingers through his head-feathers, enjoying his playful side. "Mmm..."

He chuckled at her giggle.

"Is the dark creature of the night ticklish?" he teased.
