Immortality tended to get boring. Whether she was booted out of the divine halls or voluntarily left depended on who you asked. As far as Magica De Spell was concerned, the mortals deserved to be in her presence every so often to entertain her. She flitted from village to village, trying to find someone worthy of her time, but alas, her standards were very high.
Then she learned to hear the whispers, the rumors, about a clan that rose from the depths of defeat and refused to stay down. The next head was a strong, determined lad who worked to the bone every day to bring glory to the family name. Curious about such a man, Magica walked along the dirt and the stones to where the man supposedly traveled for his wares. For now, she disguised her presence, allowing herself to be ignored by all living things so she could observe without being seen.
After all, when it came down to it, she wasn't going to hit it if this McDuck wasn't a looker.

When they all sat down to dinner that night, Scrooge tucked in with enthusiasm. "Nothing better after a long day with the horses than a good meal."
no subject
"But you would do well to enjoy this meal, for I made plenty." She made sure to rub it in - yes, she worked, dammit. "And it would do you even better to admit I was, as always, right."

Downy cleared her throat.
He sighed. "Though the food is quite good. Thank you."
no subject
"Oooooh~ho~ho~ho!" She laughed, a hand to her beak. "See how much I can accomplish in so little time? This wager of yours is already turning in my favor. I'll do us both a favor and leave my door unlocked so you can come and submit at the earliest hour."

Hortense snickered. "This is more entertaining than whenever there's a festival in town."

Although her own comment made her think... Perhaps she should check late tonight to see if his door was locked. On a cold night, a warm body was better than any blanket, and one thing would lead to another...

Fortunately for Magica, he hadn't thought she'd be so bold as to go into his room, so he hadn't locked the door.
As he sat in the hot water, head tilted back, he tried to let all the stress of the day leave him. Tomorrow he'd be going back into town with Autumn Sunshine and one of the geldings. Hopefully they'd have some buyers this time around.

Laying naked on his bed in a provocative pose! Now all she had to do was wait for him to finish his bath, so he could finish in her.

He walked over to his bed, enjoying the cool night breeze blowing through his feathers. He was so tired that he moved slowly, half-asleep, towards the bed.

Stifling a bemused chuckle, she opened her arms, puckered her lips, and closed her eyes, awaiting his touch.

...and promptly hugged a pillow as he fell asleep. Completely unaware that he wasn't alone.

Briefly, Magica had a vision of tearing Scrooge apart limb by limb, bone by bone, pluck out his eyes and have maggots feast on his organs, and making his every waking moment sheer tortuous agony.
THEN HE COULD KNOW A FRACTION OF WHAT SHE FELT LIKE RIGHT NOW.
Biting down so hard on her tongue she could taste blood, Magica curled her fingers inward so she couldn't strangle Scrooge, and instead stormed out of his room, fuming.

Regardless, he slept well that night...though seeing the flower petals when he woke up did confuse him quite a lot.

Damned Scrooge. Damned Scrooge. Damned Scrooge. DAMN HIM TO THE FURTHEST PITS OF THE UNDERWORLD!

"Before breakfast, I hadn't seen her since dinner. Maybe it's the sexual frustration," he said crossly.
Honestly, he'd never asked to obtain the interest of a moody goddess. How was this his fault?
no subject
"Scrooge." She said darkly, not even acknowledging Hortense's presence. "I'm working with you today."
That wasn't a question or a suggestion. It was an order.

He crossed his arms, raising a brow at her.

"All right then. Let's get started. I was going to be working overtime today because I've got to take some of the horses to market which will eat into my time, but many hands make light work."
Honestly, she was doing herself no favors.
no subject
"Then let's get these silly nags walking already!"

She shook her head - not the point! "I'm perfectly calm. I'll have you know I can be much worse than this."

But she made the zipped lips gesture, crossing her arms. At least she wouldn't frighten any animals with her yelling at least.
