 Immortality tended to get boring. Whether she was booted out of the divine halls or voluntarily left depended on who you asked. As far as Magica De Spell was concerned, the mortals deserved to be in her presence every so often to entertain her. She flitted from village to village, trying to find someone worthy of her time, but alas, her standards were very high.

Then she learned to hear the whispers, the rumors, about a clan that rose from the depths of defeat and refused to stay down. The next head was a strong, determined lad who worked to the bone every day to bring glory to the family name. Curious about such a man, Magica walked along the dirt and the stones to where the man supposedly traveled for his wares. For now, she disguised her presence, allowing herself to be ignored by all living things so she could observe without being seen.

After all, when it came down to it, she wasn't going to hit it if this McDuck wasn't a looker.

Not sensing anything, Magica shook her head. She then glanced over at Scrooge, thinking of the advice she gave Matilda.

She silently came up to Scrooge, and without any warning, kissed him.

He tensed for a moment before closing his eyes and returning the kiss, resting his hands on her waist.

He was surprising her for the second time that day. She expected him to freeze up, maybe throw her off. She hesitated, then slid her arms onto his chest, taking the kiss nice and slow.

[richestduck]

Scrooge enjoyed the kiss, letting himself slip into the fantasy for just a moment...

But then pulled back, sighing. "We can't, lass."

She could really feel her heart beating now, a sensation she hadn't felt in ages.

"... I could make you forget me." She said quietly.

[richestduck]

"Don't you dare," he told her. "I don't want to forget a moment of this. No matter what."

[lifesa_witch]

A third surprise - was this ever going to end?

"None of this?"

[richestduck]

"None of it. I want the good and the bad."

[lifesa_witch]

"I don't think I'll ever understand you." And she could no longer tell if this was a good thing or a bad one.

"You have a duty to your clan. To marry well and carry on the blood. You need to be able to give yourself away to... another." As much as she found the idea utterly loathsome.

[richestduck]

"I know. But I don't want to forget you. I know it doesn't make sense. Honestly, it'd be in my best interest if I did...but I don't want to. Memories are precious."

[lifesa_witch]

"Then hate me." She touched his cheek and kissed him once more, deeper. "Hurt me. Leave me."

[richestduck]

"Can't." He leaned forward to press his forehead against hers. "But...if you want..."

He couldn't say the words, but he'd give himself to her. Just this once.

Magica kissed him again and again. This was what she wanted, wasn't it? Then she could leave him and this whole insane family behind. It could all be over. They could move on.

So why... why didn't it feel right?

[richestduck]

He kissed her back and started leading her towards the bed. Just this once...he would let responsibility go just this once. If he could make her happy, then all the better, right? She was a goddess. She could continue in her duties with a light heart.

[lifesa_witch]

Magica trembled - and then suddenly pushed him off. "Stop!"

[richestduck]

Scrooge was so startled by the command that he froze. Then..."But...what about...?"

[lifesa_witch]

She wound up sitting on the bed, breathing hard and clutching her hair. "I don't know! I don't know! You... did something to me!"

[richestduck]

"I didn't...I haven't. I swear."

What could he have possibly done to do this to her?

[lifesa_witch]

She turned away from him, not wanting to look at him. "You may not have meant to do, but you did!"

[richestduck]

"I'm sorry."

What else could he say? What could he do?

[lifesa_witch]

Her mind was spinning, and she didn't know what she truly wanted anymore. She wanted him gone, but also wanted him to stay.

"I don't... I don't want pleasure from you if it's an obligation."

[richestduck]

"It's not. I want to pleasure you even if it'll be the only time."

[lifesa_witch]

"You know I'll leave once it's done. I can't stay here. I'll weigh you down."

[richestduck]

"I know you'll go."

Because she'd have ultimately gotten what she wanted. She won their little bet.

"Just say it. Just say you want me to go." Even if it was a lie, even if he didn't mean it - because this didn't feel like winning. Now she wanted to fall into one of those deep, endless sleeps she'd dreaded.
