Immortality tended to get boring. Whether she was booted out of the divine halls or voluntarily left depended on who you asked. As far as Magica De Spell was concerned, the mortals deserved to be in her presence every so often to entertain her. She flitted from village to village, trying to find someone worthy of her time, but alas, her standards were very high.
Then she learned to hear the whispers, the rumors, about a clan that rose from the depths of defeat and refused to stay down. The next head was a strong, determined lad who worked to the bone every day to bring glory to the family name. Curious about such a man, Magica walked along the dirt and the stones to where the man supposedly traveled for his wares. For now, she disguised her presence, allowing herself to be ignored by all living things so she could observe without being seen.
After all, when it came down to it, she wasn't going to hit it if this McDuck wasn't a looker.

A light day, really.

She leaned on him, arms around him like his purpose was to hold her up. "Fine, fine, if we must..."

It was really having the opposite effect on potential customers, as no one wanted to be near... whatever this was.
no subject
He wanted to shove her off, but he didn't want to risk making the goddess even more annoyed.
Someone, please interrupt this!
no subject
"Magica De Spell?"
Magica froze. No. No way in hell or heaven. Had she summoned him by saying his name?!
Walking up to the unhappy couple was a young man with fluffy brown hair, small glasses, and plenty of scrolls under his arms. "My my my! Hail heartily, my good friend!"
no subject
"Which god are you?" he asked, wondering if he might be able to pawn Magica off on the newcomer.
At the same time, he tried to disentangle himself from her grip.

"Then do me a great service and LEAVE!" Magica snapped, letting go of Scrooge to try and push Ludwig away. "This is MY territory! And I'm not sharing!"
Oblivious to her ranting, Ludwig casually walked to the side - making Magica accidentally fall flat on her face - to inspect the horses for himself. "Would you look at these marvelous stallions! Such shiny coats, and such strong legs! These have been raised with expert care and attention! Why, I imagine this one will last many a good year!"
Funny enough, this was drawing attention in a more positive way. Potential customers were starting to glance over, intrigued by Ludwig's appraisal.

Well, Ludwig was already winning points in Scrooge's book. Much less annoying than Magica.

"Do it somewhere else!" Magica grabbed his arm, still trying to drag him away. "Move! Scram! Get lost!"

"... And to think that these creatures have such unique skeletons inside them! One would think that the evolutionary factor would change things up, but instead, for example their eye structure..."
Magica then said quietly, "A god who doesn't have to breathe never learns to shut up."

Magica looked at Ludwig, then at Scrooge. "... Give me permission to use my powers just once. I'll get rid of him, and be out of your hair for at least an hour. Deal?"
no subject
Scrooge rubbed his temples.

She then held out her hands, holding them apart, murmuring a few words of the old tongue, with purple mist spreading around her fingers until what she summoned came forth!
A two by four piece of plywood.
"And look at those hooves! It makes one wonder how hard they can - GLBXT!" The sound a god made when thwacked upside the head, apparently. Magica then casually tossed her weapon away, as Ludwig fell forward, K.O.ed ungracefully. She then grabbed him by the foot and began to drag him away.
"I'll dump him far enough away. In the meantime, you better realize how grateful you are to have me!"
no subject
Ludwig was a god. He'd be fine.
Scrooge then smiled at his customers. "So, who's interested in a new horse?"
no subject
But to Scrooge's benefit, he did manage to sell all the horses. One customer even mentioned that "having such a funny show" beforehand was so relaxing!
no subject
He looked to see Magica returning, looking tired. "Just in time! I'm almost done here!"
