Two Darkwing Duck Adventures for the Post of One!
[For Morgana]
[Drake's quest to find answers about the missing Professor Waddlemeyer was full of dead ends. He had made no progress, and he felt bad about the effect that had on Gosalyn. She was still her normal chipper self most of the time, but he had learned to see the cracks in that. And he wanted to do everything he could to help her feel better until he could reunite her with her real family.
These days, it seems the thing she got most excited for was a band. To Drake's relief, it's not like other music of the youths which register just as noise for him. This actually sounds like the kind of thing he'd listen to in high school! And the singing is just great... but this is about Gosalyn! In a spot of bad timing, Gosalyn's fallen sick while the band's has come to St. Canard for a concert. And so Drake's claimed to be out for a night of quiet patrolling while Launchpad tends to the sick kid, but in actuality he's doing something as Drake Mallard. If she can't attend the concert, maybe he can at least get an autograph for her or something. Maybe that will raise her spirits!
And so, Drake Mallard sneaks around backstage at the concert, for any sign of mysterious melodist...]
[For Della]
[It was a long night of fighting crime in Avalon for one Darkwing Duck. Some sort of magical monsters were on the loose, and he didn't get out of it without a comical number of bruises on his head. He was also left somewhat disoriented...
So when he slinked back home in the wee hours of the morning and tried to clamber into his bedroom through the window, he did not realize that he was going through the completely wrong window, into the room of the one person who didn't yet know his secret!]

I suppose I should be grateful to have a new fan at all... I'd say it's nice to meet you, but that does beg the question of why you were here, if you weren't a fan before?
[ She leans in at that, eyebrow quirked. He doesn't seem like a thief, not that there's much to steal here in the first place. So if he's not a robber, and not an overzealous fan... what else was there?]
no subject
[He blurts out as her question reminds him of his true mission here tonight.]
See, there's a kid who's been a big fan of you for much, much longer than I have! She was too sick to come to tonight's concert, sooo I thought...
[He takes a breath and then quickly asks-]
What else could help her feel better than the ol' autograph treatment? [Now he looks at her with pleading eyes!]
no subject
Partly because that's a rather sweet notion, going all this way for someone else despite potentially not even enjoying the music she made - and partly because she's never given an autograph before. The surprised smile on her face lingers for a moment, as she reels from just a few short sentences. ]
Really? My autograph?
[ But once the words are out, she realizes how utterly ridiculous that makes her seem - musicians give those out all the time! She doesn't want him thinking she's some kind of loser! (And she cares about what he thinks of her, apparently!) So she swiftly clears her throat, tossing her hair as she dramatically turns back into her room. ]
I mean... is that all? No sweat. Usually when parents talk to me about their kids, they're all whiny and blame me for "corrupting" their sweet little angels.
[ A click of her tongue. But, now onto the next problem... she didn't exactly have the exact materials on hand for an impromptu autograph. Her eyes fall on the tome, and... hm. Well, what harm would getting rid of one page do? It was inscribed in mystical codes, no way would any mortal be able to decipher them. Surely that wouldn't come back to bite her on the butt.
With that, she ripped out a page, grabbed a pen, and scribbled while saying it out loud. ]
"To Gosalyn - Get better. Get even. Get out there. - Morgana McCawber."
no subject
Some parents are just too uptight about that kind of thing. You won't believe the objections some of them make to simple episodes of tv shows! [Of course he's referring to Darkwing Duck, but he's showing restraint by not mentioning it by name. Overzealous parents really can mess with good things! As long as kids aren't being brainwashed into villainy, why not let them have some fun?
And as he watches her sign that autograph, he feels a goofy smile spread across her face at her sincerity.]
Yes, good, that sounds perfect! [It's a relief. He had learned the hard way that one shouldn't always meet their heroes with his experience with Jim Starling. But in this case? Morgana seemed like a hero worth meeting for Gosalyn. And someone he would like to meet a lot too!]
Thank you so much. She'll love it! I just know it. ...Ooh, nice autograph paper too! It looks like mysterious runes... Guess that's part of the whole band aesthetic, huh?
no subject
[ It was honestly kind of amazing how easy mortals were deceived, even when proof was right in front of their eyes. People easily assumed the ghoulish appearances of the bandmates were all make-up and props, and the bits of magic sparkling here and there were all just smoke and mirrors.
Maybe she was pushing her luck here, but after she handed over the page, the urge to tease him again was impossible to resist. That's why she placed one finger under his beak and tilted his head up, smirking all the while. ]
Now then... are you sure my newest fan doesn't want anything else?
[ Like an autograph for himself, or... let his imagination run wild with the vagueness. ]
no subject
And then her finger's on his beak. He blushes at her touch while he looks back at her, now fully flustered once again!]
W-well! I'm sure you're busy, I... don't want to take up too much of your time. ...But I also... would want to take up more of your time?
[He accomplished this mission much sooner than he thought, and it looked like it would be another quiet evening on yhe crime fighting front, so he does have time to spare. And he really doesn't want to leave this new face anytime soon!]
Your autograph's so good, it... It kinda makes me want one of my own!
no subject
But. It's been so long since she was able to just relax with someone and he's so sincere, and so cute, and so fun. A few more minutes wouldn't kill anyone, right? So after playfully flicking his beak upward, she moves to do another page tear and write, taking her time to write each letter. ]
Let's see... "Drake Mallard - You put a spell on me. - Morgana McCawber."
Hm... once Gosalyn is all set, I'd better see the both of you at our next gig. I do so hate being disappointed.
no subject
Now that autograph is simply enchanting. [He claps his hands together.] Thank you so much!
[And he nods energetically at her idea.]
I- I do not aim to disappoint! I will be there - rain, sleet or snow! ...And Gosalyn too of course! I'm really looking forward to seeing a lot more of you, Morgana! [A beat, and he turns red.] A - a lot more of your music, of course! That's, what I meant.
no subject
A quick glance at the clock - yes, she was running late - so she leaned toward him, on hand on her door, the other on her hip. ]
And I'll be looking for your face in the crowd... or wherever else it turns up. I have a funny feeling we could make beautiful music together.
no subject
I think it'd be more like you making the beautiful music while I sing along... b-but yeah, that sounds nice! Definitely, definitely hoping to make an appearance. My heart's set on it now!
no subject
Yours isn't the only one... goodnight, Drake~.
[ She blows him a kiss, and the door is closed shut. She sighs a bit too dreamily, running a hand through her hair - what a confidence booster! She feels like she can take over the world now! ... but let's start small, just St. Canard will do.
As a matter of fact, it was for the best that Gosalyn didn't attend the concert. Those poor fools were now an unwilling part of a criminal scheme! That very same night, the band's van would cruise through the streets, blasting hypnotic music through their speakers - anyone who had attended the concert would wake up in a zombie-like trance, compelled to throw all their money and valuables outside for the band to steal.
A simple but beautiful plan. They had been a little worried regarding rumors that this town had some strange purple-themed vigilante, but maybe they were just that, rumors. ]

[He just waves a hand in the air, opening and closing in a cheesy way because that's all he can think of. His blush renews itself as the kiss is blown towards him!
The door's shut, and while it's sad to say goodbye to her so soon, he otherwise feels on cloud nine! She was so pretty and cool and hot and she blew a kiss at him?? He's sure they'll meet again. Maybe with Gosalyn, maybe with dinner and a movie instead. Who knows what the future brings? ...Maybe he should have exchanged phone numbers. But he assures himself that there will still be a next time!
The upside of this ending so quickly is that he'll have time to go on patrol for real. It's one way to work with all of this heightened energy! And so, with a spring in his step, Drake Mallard exits - and Darkwing Duck enters the city streets!]
no subject
And now Darkwing finds himself with a case! Now this sounds like some good old-fashioned villainy to face! He scours the city until he spots a van matching the description - and playing loud music! Once it stops to pick up money, Darkwing Duck springs into action! Deploying a smoke bomb, he leaps down and raises his cape as he begins his introduction!]
I am the terror that flaps in the night!
I am the 'oldies' station that provides evil with a grim reminder that the 90s were thirty years ago...!
I am Darkwing Duck!
no subject
First, a swarm of bats flutter out, trained to catch all the lovely shiny things from higher floors.
Second, the heavy muscle of the band stormed out - the hulking giant, the one-eyed wonder, and the two-headed troll - to scoop up the treasures.
And last but certainly not least - there was Morgana herself, decked out in a brand new outfit, an electric guitar in her arms, ready to steal more than just the show. ]
If it isn't the man, the myth, and the legend himself... I wasn't expecting a special guest star to arrive. And me without an autograph book!
no subject
I... actually have headshots on me at all times for emergency autographs... [He squeaks out his response - a lesson Morgana could learn from! - as he continues to process what he's saying.]
I'm afraid that I'm the special guest star that will get this show cancelled! Whatever... this show is. Why are you doing this?! Y-you're already a sensational songstress!
no subject
I'd love to give you the realities of being an indie celebrity, but time is money, and if you're going to stand in the way...
[ She begins hitting the strings incredibly fast, sparks of electricity running through her fingers... ]
Then I'll just have to make this a solo act!
[ To be fair, she doesn't actually WANT to hurt anybody. Hence the hypnotic tunes, so the cash and other treasures are given out "peacefully". Maybe she can just scare off the cutie in violet, but if he leaves her no choice...
... With a hard rip of the chords, she sends out a lightning strike right for our hero! ]
no subject
Struggling against his confusion, he tries to stand his ground!]
But you're working with several- ACK!
[The bolt of electricity hits him dead on, and he's thrown back into a pile of trash.]
Oof... Now this really is shocking. [Still, Darkwing rises to his feet, now somewhat charred, and he starts to approach her. The electricity hurt, but not as much as the sense of betrayal!]
Sorry, but I think this show needs to be called off...!
no subject
I'm the only one who makes the curtain calls here!
[ All right, if zapping him won't do the trick, let's get physical - she unslips the guitar from her shoulder and begins swinging it around like a battle ax! ]
Exit, stage left!
no subject
[With that, he ducks under one swing and takes the opportunity to try to sweep his leg at hers to knock her off her feet!]
I think your guitar is due for a tuning!
no subject
She lands hard on her side, possibly costing her a string or two. She quickly glances over at her bandmates - unsurprisingly, they're way more invested to stuffing as much loot into the van as they can instead of even trying to help her. Typical. After an annoyed snort, she focuses back on Darkwing. She can't count on them when it matters... but that doesn't mean she's alone.
What's a good witch without familiars? ]
Not bad, Darkwing... but at this rate, you'll be going batty! Eek, Squeak, center stage!
[ Out of her hair flies two bats, screeching loudly and ready to swarm. She hates to put her babies in danger like this, but she can use the time to get back to her feet. ]
no subject
He does look apologetic for a moment, almost like he wants to check up on her, but he changes course once Morgana keeps barrelling ahead with the villainy.]
Okay, how does your hair look so great with two bats inside of it?! [He asks, flabbergasted, before he clears his throat and preps for action.] I mean... batter up! [He tries to duck away from the bats and swishes his cape around in an attempt to catch them in it!]
no subject
[ Excellent, little pets! She's back on her feet, and ready to swing her guitar again, as the bats continue to fly circles around Darkwing. Why won't he stay down?! ]
no subject
[That throws him off, and he blushes slightly, allowing him to be clobbered by the guitar. He spins around for a moment while trying to regain his composure.]
Well, uh, I would have expected dinner and a movie... not dancing! [He says as he transitions his spinning into some swerving movements to dodge the latest attacks and to keep trying to throw the bats off with his cape!]
no subject
She thought his civility and compliments were something he gives to all his enemies, maybe in some desperate attempt to stop them before things got worse. But now? It seems today lightning strikes twice... What a lucky day, her getting the chance to toy with two cute guys.
Her smirk becomes a full fanged grin, tossing in some kicks and punches with her swings, the two of them at times matching hit for hit, block for block. If she wasn't on such a tight schedule, she would have loved to do this tango all night long. ]
Why, Dark darling, don't tell me this is a case of love at first strike!
no subject
Although he feels torn about fighting her, something about it feels exhilarating. It really is like some kind of lovely dance! He's really in the zone with the way he dodges her guitar, and their strikes hit each other. Still, her taunt does fluster him a bit!]
I don't know if I'd call it that. But I do want to take you out. ...Out of crime!
