Two Darkwing Duck Adventures for the Post of One!
[For Morgana]
[Drake's quest to find answers about the missing Professor Waddlemeyer was full of dead ends. He had made no progress, and he felt bad about the effect that had on Gosalyn. She was still her normal chipper self most of the time, but he had learned to see the cracks in that. And he wanted to do everything he could to help her feel better until he could reunite her with her real family.
These days, it seems the thing she got most excited for was a band. To Drake's relief, it's not like other music of the youths which register just as noise for him. This actually sounds like the kind of thing he'd listen to in high school! And the singing is just great... but this is about Gosalyn! In a spot of bad timing, Gosalyn's fallen sick while the band's has come to St. Canard for a concert. And so Drake's claimed to be out for a night of quiet patrolling while Launchpad tends to the sick kid, but in actuality he's doing something as Drake Mallard. If she can't attend the concert, maybe he can at least get an autograph for her or something. Maybe that will raise her spirits!
And so, Drake Mallard sneaks around backstage at the concert, for any sign of mysterious melodist...]
[For Della]
[It was a long night of fighting crime in Avalon for one Darkwing Duck. Some sort of magical monsters were on the loose, and he didn't get out of it without a comical number of bruises on his head. He was also left somewhat disoriented...
So when he slinked back home in the wee hours of the morning and tried to clamber into his bedroom through the window, he did not realize that he was going through the completely wrong window, into the room of the one person who didn't yet know his secret!]

But that's right. They have a job to do, and they have to make sure their quarry is turned over! This kind of stuff is supposed to wait until after the criminals have been taken care of.
And so, off to the station! ...Where Darkwing can't help but smile at the way Morgana gets at that officer. He whispers to her.]
I feel like I should scold you for that, but I want to thank you instead? So, uh, thanks!
no subject
Your fault for falling for a bad girl.
[ The officer clears his throat, and hastily puts away a box of doughnuts before blows that up too. "If this is all true, then Miss McCawber has plenty of explaining to do... especially in regards to the other places she and her band have robbed. Magic is hard to prove, but broken windows and stolen jewelry isn't."
Ulp. Boy, it always looks a lot easier on TV, doesn't it? Morgana nervously tugs at her collar before sadly looking at Darkwing, gently touching his cheek.]
This... might take a while. And you've got a city to protect. They need you more than I do... and I know you'll always come back to me.
[ The officer rolls his eyes, which earns him Morgana zapping his hat off without even looking at the guy. ]
no subject
W-well.... I suppose I should get back to sweeping up scoundrels. A hero's work is never done! But, uh, you sure you've got this covered? If there's any way I can help, just let me know!
[It's a bit frustrating that authorities havr trouble accepting that someone is in redemption arc mode!]
no subject
But she offers him a sweet smile and a kiss on the cheek in an effort to reassure him. ]
I know. But I've got a lot of apologies to make... just don't go out there sweeping off any other villains off their feet.
[ A playful little beak flick. There will probably be a matter of bail money... and the only one she can call to help pay that is dear old dad - "Lord McCawber", as Cyclops had warned. That is going to be one "fun" phone call. Oof.
But she doesn't want to bring that down on Darkwing's shoulders, not when everything is finally working out. There will always be another night for him to flap terror in. ]
Go out there and be my hero.
no subject
Don't you worry. The only sweeping I'll do with those ones, is into the trash bin!
[He manages to raise his cape dramatically! And he winks at her.]
I will. And then I'll come back and - be your hero!
[With that Darkwing does some more dramatic cape-swishing, turns around and... slams into the door. He struggles with it for a few moments before someone gently points out that he has to pull and not push it. He mutters a thanks, gets the door open and then casually strolls out to adventure!]

But it's already been a long night, with the robbery, betrayal, final show-down and now explaining everything to the authorities. By the time everything is wrapped up, it's well into the next day! Morgana wouldn't blame Darkwing if he needed to hit the hay. Mortals need their sleep, and she could use a good lay in her coffin - er, bed. But in addition to the bail she needed for her freedom, she had to pay back what she couldn't give back - which meant selling the other instruments and plenty of other tech. She's truly back at square one.
Eventually she's released, and heads back to the theater - no money, no band, and a criminal record. But... she's got Darkwing. And she'll get over Drake. Eventually. Someday. Probably. Maybe.
That morning, Gosalyn was rather puzzled by the social media update declaring that "Morgana And The Ghoulies" had officially split, and Morgana gone solo... but then shrugged it off. "She's the best one, anyway!" ]
no subject
Once he's awake and sees the news, smiling at Gosalyn's outlook on the matter, he heads out to do some unspecified boring adult stuff early in the afternoon.
He ends up heading back to the theater to find her. This time, as Drake Mallard.]

Morgana's in her dressing room, walking back and forth as she talks nervously to the other end. Eek, Squeak, and Archie are on security detail, in case the bandmates break out and come for revenge. One of the bats spots Drake and... y'know what? Just casually watches him. Might even wave a hello.
Eek might ship it a little, so sue 'em. Shoot, they might even help Drake around the place... if he asks nicely. ]
Yes, father, of course I'm very, very, very appreciative of your help... I understand that it was a lot of money, and obviously I intend to pay it back... [ A tense groan, rubbing of her temple. ] No, it does NOT mean I'm coming home... Because you still don't respect my music! This was just one setback! I've making plenty of new songs, I've got fans... [ A pause, then a giggle, as she twirls her hair around her finger. ] I've met someone~... Hm? ... What does Vlad have to do with...?
[ Alas, there's to be no gushing over boys, if a sudden shrill shriek means anything. ]
NO! NO NO NO NO! I MEANT IT THEN AND I MEAN IT NOW! ... YOU ARRANGED IT, NOT ME, AND I DO NOT CARE ONE IOTA WHAT ANYONE ELSE THINKS ABOUT IT! ... I'M NOT MARRYING HIM, AND THAT'S FINAL!
[ She not only hangs up, she drops her phone, and then kicks it, before flopping backwards onto her loveseat. ]
... And I still miss Drake. What is wrong with me?
no subject
As he approaches, he does notice Eek and greets him with a wave and smile that are both meek in nature. He whispers:]
Hiii there! Nice bat, nice friendly bat...! [Please don't attack him or mess with him! ...At least they seem friendlier now...
Drake's feet turn to lead as he stands outside the door and tries to summon the will to knock! Instead, he ends up hearing a conversation play out. Or part of it. He hears enough to worry him! What's this about marrying or not marrying someone?!
He leans his head against the door... and he thinks that he overhears something about her missing someone. Did she say... 'rake'? What dies that mean? Is there someone named Rake who's stolen her heart?? Or is it someone who is rake-ishly good-looking?? It feels like there's a shorthand for everything these days!
He turns to whisper back at Morgana's familiars anxiously.]
What do I do??
no subject
Inside, Morgana sighs, and looks up to see Squeak sitting on her desk drawer. She gets up, coming over to sit at the make-up mirror and lament at her own reflection. ]
I know, I must sound crazy! Here I am, moping about someone who treated my autograph like trash... I have Darkwing, and he's all anyone could ever want in a man! He's handsome, mysterious, kind, and he believed in me! And Drake... I thought we had something special, but... if he treated something so important to me like that, maybe it was all just some... game to him.
[ Another big sigh, and then she straightens up, slapping her cheeks! ]
Okay! Fine! If that's how he feels about me, then... I'm over him! I'm Darkwing's girl now! I'm completely, totally, one hundred percent, over Drake Mallard!
[ A-huh. Squeak lets out a few little chirps, and she stops in place. ]
... Drake's here?
[ "Squeak squeak." ]
... WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME SOONER?! I CAN'T LET HIM SEE ME LIKE THIS!
[ In a rushed flurry, she quickly yoinks her lipsticks to put on, along with some dark eyeshadow, pops on a spiked collar, does she have time to change into a shorter dress?! At least lace up her heels!
She then gets right back into the loveseat, hiking up the skirt a bit, pulling down her sleeve an inch, grabs her guitar, and thinks of the most seductive Disney song they've ever allowed. A-hem. ]
You had plenty money, 1922,
You let other women make a fool of you...
Why don't you do right, like some other men do?
Get out of here and get me some money too...
[ Look at how absolutely over him she is.
Eek, dead-eyeing all of this, lowers his wing. Have at it, bud. ]
no subject
But then, well, things shift. A lot. And before he knows it, her next song strikes him dead. He swoons over, gripping the doorknob and then stumbling into the room while muttering in a daze.]
What forms of currency do you accept...
[Then he clears his throat.]
I- I mean hi! Hey.... Morgana. Fancy meeting you here!
no subject
Morgana, pretending to be both surprised yet cool as a cucumber, stops playing and lightly tosses her hair over her shoulder. ]
Why, if it isn't Drake Mallard. Whatever brings you to my neck of the woods?
[ See? Totally over him. Not interested in the least. Any flirtatious movements or tone in her voice are completely coincidental. ]
no subject
O-oh, you know, I just... happened to be in the neighborhood! And thought I'd stop by the old stomping grounds....
[He tries to play it casually, while sweating bullets.]
Hey, um, enough about me! How... are you doing?
no subject
[ She sights up straighter, looking away, trying to really give off how much she does NOT care about him. No sir. Cold as ice. ]
A little birdie told me that you're not as big a fan of me as I thought.
no subject
N-no... Now that just sounds like a big misunderstanding to me! It's not like that at all, Morgana.
no subject
[ She takes a risk by glancing back at him slightly to give him a hard, cold glare - the risk being that she will believe anything he says if she focuses too much on those gorgeous eyes of his.
But she can handle it! Her heart is made of stone! There's nothing he could say to make up for that insult! ]
no subject
R-right. The autograph. My most treasured possession which was not thrown out in any way! ...Y-you have to believe me. I just, I lost it, that's all. I can't say how sorry I feel about it!
[What he really feels sorry about is that he almost did give up on her for good! But this is close enough.]
no subject
She slides her guitar off, and gets up - to slam her hand to the wall behind him, effectively
kabedontrapping him there as she leans in, glaring and with fangs bared. Maybe if he sees more of the monster she really is, he'll find her as repulsive as other mortals had. ]Give me one good reason why I should believe you.
no subject
I... I... [He gulps as he looks right at her, half-terrified.]
...I really love your fangs! Are they natural?
no subject
What Morgana had not been expecting : that.
She blinks rapidly, her game completely thrown off. ]
My... what? I... well, yes, they are... but... don't they... frighten you? Disgust you?
no subject
Of course not! What's disgusting about that? I mean, yeah, they are pretty frightening, but that also makes them more cool, and dangerous, and lovely!
no subject
No, this is fine, she's strong! She will get the truth out of him! She is NOT going to flirt with him anym- ]
So... you like your girls a little... dangerous, do you?
[ Giving up is also an option. ]
no subject
...That's one way to put it? I can't say that doesn't have some allure! ...Or, as a great hero likes to put it...
[He clears his throat.]
... Let's get dangerous!
no subject
I - uh- that's... oooh, what am I doing?!
[ She'd been so taken in by Drake that she forgot all about Darkwing! She had just turned over a new leaf and was about to cheat on him! That's not what a hero does! And they were dating... weren't they? Kinda? But she wouldn't have committed herself to Darkwing if she thought Drake really did treasure the autograph, so didn't he have dibs? But... and he... and the timing... this is all so confusing!
At least if she was still a villain, she could have been a bad girl and had them both! Daaaang it, being good was so hard! ]
I-I'm sorry! I... there's someone else! Oooh, but! I really, really like you both! This is the worst!
no subject
... But instead, her reaction catches him by surprise. His shoulders slump with dejection as she reveals that there's someone else!]
What. What do you mean? I... I thought we had something special. Who... Who is this other person? [He's so caught up in the moment that he has no idea who it could be. He just really hopes it's not Gizmoduck!]
