Two Darkwing Duck Adventures for the Post of One!
[For Morgana]
[Drake's quest to find answers about the missing Professor Waddlemeyer was full of dead ends. He had made no progress, and he felt bad about the effect that had on Gosalyn. She was still her normal chipper self most of the time, but he had learned to see the cracks in that. And he wanted to do everything he could to help her feel better until he could reunite her with her real family.
These days, it seems the thing she got most excited for was a band. To Drake's relief, it's not like other music of the youths which register just as noise for him. This actually sounds like the kind of thing he'd listen to in high school! And the singing is just great... but this is about Gosalyn! In a spot of bad timing, Gosalyn's fallen sick while the band's has come to St. Canard for a concert. And so Drake's claimed to be out for a night of quiet patrolling while Launchpad tends to the sick kid, but in actuality he's doing something as Drake Mallard. If she can't attend the concert, maybe he can at least get an autograph for her or something. Maybe that will raise her spirits!
And so, Drake Mallard sneaks around backstage at the concert, for any sign of mysterious melodist...]
[For Della]
[It was a long night of fighting crime in Avalon for one Darkwing Duck. Some sort of magical monsters were on the loose, and he didn't get out of it without a comical number of bruises on his head. He was also left somewhat disoriented...
So when he slinked back home in the wee hours of the morning and tried to clamber into his bedroom through the window, he did not realize that he was going through the completely wrong window, into the room of the one person who didn't yet know his secret!]

[To think that not long ago, he was steeling himself to arrest her with the whole band. But now? Now things are different. He looks down uncertainly, his hat casting over his head.]
You did the right thing in the end. That's... what really matters. If we turn in these three and give back everything you took... I think that should be enough.
[He lifts a smile towards her.]
I like to call those 'redemption arc rules'. [But he'll just try to gloss over the part about how hurt he was.]
no subject
But just as a tiger can't change their stripes, there are some things about Morgana that'll never change. She can't help a small smirk. ]
I don't think I can give back everything I took...
[ She walks a few steps, as if intending to walk right by him, but instead touches his shoulder, and leans in to kiss his cheek. ]
I'm not giving back your heart, even if you ask nicely.
no subject
W-well... I might be able to let that one slide.
[And then he adds, with a hint of hurt-]
Just... try to be careful with it.
no subject
... Were you telling the truth about this? That... you just found flying out a window?
[ If Drake really did throw it out, it would hurt, but maybe she could move on, and her heart could solely be devoted to Darkwing. Otherwise, how was she possibly supposed to choose between them? ]
no subject
...Oh. Well, uh... Hoo boy. [He gulps and shakes his head.]
Sorry, but that - that wasn't really the truth.
no subject
[ Despite it being "for the best", it still really, really hurts to hear the "truth" confirmed. She turns away from him, thumbing the autograph. ]
... It's my own fault. Every time he tried to get close, I pushed him away. I was so afraid of being hurt again, I wound up hurting him instead. Someone like that is... better off without me.
no subject
That's not true. I can't imagine someone that lucky being better off without you. You know better now! Things are... getting better. Things can keep on getting better! It's... not too late, Morgana.
no subject
[ She fell for Drake fairly quickly, so maybe she'll get over him just as fast. It's a nice little lie she tells herself. With a sigh, she looks at Darkwing before handing over her half of the autograph. ]
Here. It's safer in your hands. And... maybe it'll mean more to you than it did to him.
no subject
Trust me. This will be my personal treasure.
[The last part did sting a bit, but... the truth was, he was planning to throw it out until Morgana came through, so... he feels that maybe he did deserve that.]
A nice memento of a talented new performer. And a worthy hero.
no subject
Well now. If there's no immediate rush to send the other singers to the slammer... She walks right up to him and begins sliding her arms around his neck. ]
In that case, don't we both get the "standard hero's reward"? Especially since we were so rudely interrupted before...
no subject
D-don't mind if I do...
[He clears his throat.]
My dearest friend, if you don't mind...
I'd love to join you by your side.
Where we can gaze into the stars...
no subject
Now and forever.
For it's as clear,
As anyone can see...
[ Eek and Squeak cover all eight of Archie's eyes as he grumbles, but as far as they're concerned, this is an OTP win.
And, for now, Morgana can set aside her heartbreak, her crimes, and her past. Right now, all she wants to think about is the one who she has perfect harmony with. ]
We're simply meant to be~.
[ The first kiss with Drake had been more of a tantalizing seduction, whereas here it's just a touch softer and sweeter. As if it's been something she's been waiting for all her life, and she's in no hurry to let it - him - go. Everything in the theater is silent, but her heart's in a swelling crescendo with the man who owns the night.]

If there's one thing the old Darkwing Duck tv show was lacking in, it was romance. Now he thinks he's found it. The missing part of Darkwing Duck, right here in this lovely former foe. This feels even better than noticing a production error in a Darkwing Duck episode that no one's noted in its wiki page yet!
He lets it carry in for a bit before he pulls back, in a blissful daze.]
...Th-that was... Wow. We should collaborate more often. [He speaks breathlessly.]

[ A bomb could go off outside and Morgana wouldn't even notice it. Nothing really exists outside of this perfect little jam session. She half-expects cartoony hearts to be floating around their heads.
She's practically purring as she gives an affectionate beak nuzzle to his cheek, humming right into his ear. There's no way any spell she could have forced on him would have made him taste and feel as good as this does. ]
I'm so glad you were the one that stopped me, Darkwing Duck...
[ And then, as a quick aside, and another sign that they are indeed soulmates - ]
And that it wasn't that complete loser, Gizmoduck.
no subject
You... are... perfect!
[He's one step from floating in the air in a lovey-dovey trance! It takes a moment for him to compose himself and adjust his hat.]
W-well, I'm glad to have give you a true and proper superheroic treatment, unlike some wannabe! And I'm happy to be the one to show you the light.
no subject
I know we have to hand over these guys, and all the loot, and explain everything to the authorities... but maybe after... you can show me all the heroic ropes? ... Over dinner, and a movie, perhaps?
[ And/or sloppily make out in her van? Whatever works! ]
no subject
Oh yes, that - that would be great! I'd love to. I'll let you know all the finer points of heroism while we are, uh, taking part in those activities! [And other activities at the same time.]
no subject
[ An extremely unusual version of a date, but as far as she's concerned, a date nonetheless! But they can't just stay there and exchange kisses and sweet nothings all night long (as much as they both would love to). Doing all that in front of three captured bad guys would just be a tad weird!
Eventually and reluctantly they have to let each other go, and drag Morgana's cohorts to the police station, along with the stolen goods, to the poor man at the front desk who thought he was going to have a slow night! It's one of the stranger calls to his superiors he's ever made!
"Uh, yeah, we've got that idiot in a hat again, dropping off some crooks-"
Morgana clears her throat and, with a flick of her wrist, quite casually zaps the officer's coffee mug so it explodes in his face. Part of her will always be a bad girl. Is that so wrong?
"... I mean, uh, we have Mister Darkwing Duck, doing his valiant duty for this city once more..." ]
no subject
But that's right. They have a job to do, and they have to make sure their quarry is turned over! This kind of stuff is supposed to wait until after the criminals have been taken care of.
And so, off to the station! ...Where Darkwing can't help but smile at the way Morgana gets at that officer. He whispers to her.]
I feel like I should scold you for that, but I want to thank you instead? So, uh, thanks!
no subject
Your fault for falling for a bad girl.
[ The officer clears his throat, and hastily puts away a box of doughnuts before blows that up too. "If this is all true, then Miss McCawber has plenty of explaining to do... especially in regards to the other places she and her band have robbed. Magic is hard to prove, but broken windows and stolen jewelry isn't."
Ulp. Boy, it always looks a lot easier on TV, doesn't it? Morgana nervously tugs at her collar before sadly looking at Darkwing, gently touching his cheek.]
This... might take a while. And you've got a city to protect. They need you more than I do... and I know you'll always come back to me.
[ The officer rolls his eyes, which earns him Morgana zapping his hat off without even looking at the guy. ]
no subject
W-well.... I suppose I should get back to sweeping up scoundrels. A hero's work is never done! But, uh, you sure you've got this covered? If there's any way I can help, just let me know!
[It's a bit frustrating that authorities havr trouble accepting that someone is in redemption arc mode!]
no subject
But she offers him a sweet smile and a kiss on the cheek in an effort to reassure him. ]
I know. But I've got a lot of apologies to make... just don't go out there sweeping off any other villains off their feet.
[ A playful little beak flick. There will probably be a matter of bail money... and the only one she can call to help pay that is dear old dad - "Lord McCawber", as Cyclops had warned. That is going to be one "fun" phone call. Oof.
But she doesn't want to bring that down on Darkwing's shoulders, not when everything is finally working out. There will always be another night for him to flap terror in. ]
Go out there and be my hero.
no subject
Don't you worry. The only sweeping I'll do with those ones, is into the trash bin!
[He manages to raise his cape dramatically! And he winks at her.]
I will. And then I'll come back and - be your hero!
[With that Darkwing does some more dramatic cape-swishing, turns around and... slams into the door. He struggles with it for a few moments before someone gently points out that he has to pull and not push it. He mutters a thanks, gets the door open and then casually strolls out to adventure!]
no subject
But it's already been a long night, with the robbery, betrayal, final show-down and now explaining everything to the authorities. By the time everything is wrapped up, it's well into the next day! Morgana wouldn't blame Darkwing if he needed to hit the hay. Mortals need their sleep, and she could use a good lay in her coffin - er, bed. But in addition to the bail she needed for her freedom, she had to pay back what she couldn't give back - which meant selling the other instruments and plenty of other tech. She's truly back at square one.
Eventually she's released, and heads back to the theater - no money, no band, and a criminal record. But... she's got Darkwing. And she'll get over Drake. Eventually. Someday. Probably. Maybe.
That morning, Gosalyn was rather puzzled by the social media update declaring that "Morgana And The Ghoulies" had officially split, and Morgana gone solo... but then shrugged it off. "She's the best one, anyway!" ]
no subject
Once he's awake and sees the news, smiling at Gosalyn's outlook on the matter, he heads out to do some unspecified boring adult stuff early in the afternoon.
He ends up heading back to the theater to find her. This time, as Drake Mallard.]
