So stay away from me / the beast is ugly (scrooge x magica)
The carriage ride was so long that by the time the horses stopped, night had already settled in. It was a full moon, allowing the stone pathway to be illuminated. The rider said nothing, simply taking Scrooge's bags and walking on ahead. With any luck, this wouldn't be a return trip - but luck had died long ago in this place.
In the distance, one could hear the caws of several ravens, far away in the dark forests. It was difficult to see the house in the darkness, but it was certainly large and grand. Definitely belonging to someone of high class and lots of money. After all, it was part of the reason Scrooge was here.
Another servant was at the door, waiting for them.
"Either look her in the eyes," he warned, "or have them stay on the floor. Never anywhere else. Just keep your introduction and qualifications short. it is..." He hesitated, glancing backwards. "Often too easy to stoke her anger. And lastly... never ask questions."
Some of these things had probably been told to Scrooge before - he'd been recommended the job, after all. Granted, the recommendation came with the mysterious woman buying up his shop like it was nothing. Still, it seemed at least the servants wanted this to go well.
Whatever "this" was... it was about to begin, if he was ready to enter.

He got up from his seat to take the basket.
"I suppose I should stop pestering you. It was nice."

He left the room, sighing softly.
Well, what had he been thinking? That she missed his company?
Why wouldn't this awful feeling just die already?

As it was, her studies and notes were now split in two - locating Ratface, and healing his leg for good.

But when he closed the books for the day, he had to admit that he wished for things that wouldn't be: two perfectly-strong legs, Magica's attention.
"Might as well go for a dip to cool my head." True it was cold out but the outdoor bath would be a nice distraction.

By the time he got to the open door, Magica was already submerged - thus, difficult to see. She sighed quietly, leaning her head on the rocks as the warm water settled. It was nice to sit normally, with her legs returned.

He stripped down and hobbled into the open air bath, sitting down on the edge of the bath and letting his feet dangle in the water.

She decided to wait it out, straightening up to look around.

She quickly whipped her head back around, her cheeks red. Was he trying to see her naked for the third time?! ... But she had given him permission to go into all doors now. And... who's to say this was a bad thing?
She peeked, doing her best to stay hidden. Not a bad build, no sir. And perhaps this was an opportunity for something else. She knew that he found her attractive with her wings and talons - and now she was whole. She didn't really know anything about seduction, but perhaps lust could give way to deeper feelings some day.
As she thought about this, she continued to watch to see if he'd wade in any deeper.

He re-opened his eyes and started scooting along the edge, testing the depth, until he found a spot to shimmy off the edge and into the water. He splashed down, making sure to land on his good leg. Then he settled back to relax.

After giving him a few moments to settle, she slowly began to walk into view - while making it seem like she couldn't have seen him at all. With a dainty little "sigh" to catch his attention if she hadn't already, she cupped water in both hands and let it roll down her hair and back. As if she was merely bathing and had noooo idea anyone was there.
Now to see if he'd stay or scramble.

He turned incredibly red, but the water worked to Magica's advantage: Scrambling would be next to impossible for him.
He shut his eyes. "I'm sorry! I didn't know anyone else was here!"
no subject
"... I don't think there's much of a point covering your eyes, when you already know what I look like."

"You can look at me."
Judging by the sound of her voice, she was right in front of him.

With a nervous swallow, she lightly touched his shoulders and leaned in for a kiss.

"Are you sure?" he whispered. "Or is it...is it because..."
Was it because he'd helped her regain her shape? As horrible as that sounded, he didn't want her mistaking gratitude for love. Because he did love her, and didn't want her to trap herself in a relationship she would ultimately regret.
no subject
... Well, she thought, if he was that type of "man", she wouldn't want him so much, would she? How frustrating.
"It's because I want you."
no subject
He should turn her down, tell her "no". She would regret this mistake.
Instead, he slowly wrapped an arm around her waist to pull her closer, tentative brushing the feathers of her chest with his beak in a light preen.
