So stay away from me / the beast is ugly (scrooge x magica)

 The carriage ride was so long that by the time the horses stopped, night had already settled in. It was a full moon, allowing the stone pathway to be illuminated. The rider said nothing, simply taking Scrooge's bags and walking on ahead. With any luck, this wouldn't be a return trip - but luck had died long ago in this place.

In the distance, one could hear the caws of several ravens, far away in the dark forests. It was difficult to see the house in the darkness, but it was certainly large and grand. Definitely belonging to someone of high class and lots of money. After all, it was part of the reason Scrooge was here.

Another servant was at the door, waiting for them.

"Either look her in the eyes," he warned, "or have them stay on the floor. Never anywhere else. Just keep your introduction and qualifications short. it is..." He hesitated, glancing backwards. "Often too easy to stoke her anger. And lastly... never ask questions."

Some of these things had probably been told to Scrooge before - he'd been recommended the job, after all. Granted, the recommendation came with the mysterious woman buying up his shop like it was nothing. Still, it seemed at least the servants wanted this to go well.

Whatever "this" was... it was about to begin, if he was ready to enter.

There had been a sliver of worry that the follow-up wouldn't be as good as the first, but that was quickly blown out of the water. She clung to his back, enthusiastically calling his name, hips moving in rhythm with his own.

Were they getting better at it? Well, practice did make perfect after all.

He thrust into her, whispering her name like a sacred chant, before his grip tightened with his release. However, he refused to let himself just stop there. He wanted to please her and leave her begging for more.

His wish would be granted easily. She kissed up and down his neck, across his cheeks, moaning eagerly for him. "Oh, gods, darling, don't stop, don't ever stop..."

"I don't intend to!" he gasped as he continued thrusting into her. He would fill her to the brim if he could.

She made a delirious giggle, feeling more inebriated than any bottle of wine had ever accomplished. Her climax came eagerly, and she wanted more, more until she was ready to pass out.

Again and again, over and over, until he hadn't an ounce of energy left in him. He finally dropped his head onto her shoulder, breathing heavily and shaking with exhaustion.

She nestled up into him, equally tired but equally happy. She knew they'd have to leave, dry off, and get to bed, but right now she couldn't fathom moving another inch. She toyed with the feathers atop his head, sighing peacefully.

"You're incredible," he told her, gently nuzzling her neck.

"I don't think I'll get tired of hearing that." She kissed his cheek when he got close enough. "I spend every day thinking about this..."

[richestduck]

He flushed. "I...I do, too."

It still amazed him that she'd picked him of all people.

It was doubtful she was thinking of things as seriously as he was - or at least she was trying not to. Just enjoy the moment, the here and now. Thinking any further was... dangerous. Troublesome. Unpredictable.

She cupped his cheeks for a kiss. "And the leg...? How is it?"

He kissed her back. "Could probably use a break."

At least the water meant he didn't have to put as much weight on it.

She nodded and began to pull back. "Here, let's get you up and out." This time around, there were plenty of towels for both of them.

Scrooge pulled himself up onto the side, his leg dangling into the water. He gratefully took a towel and wrapped it about himself before he attempted rising, leaning heavily on his cane.

He felt sore but it was a good sort of sore.

Once Scrooge was secure, she took a towel for herself and began rubbing herself dry - perhaps a bit too much in some areas to give Scrooge another show.

Instead of redressing in her sorcerer's robes, a sleeping dress was hanging carefully on a hook. Clara could be counted to think two steps ahead.

Scrooge, however, had to make do with his usual clothes.

"Would you like me to join you again?" he asked, wishing he had the energy to continue as his eyes followed where she rubbed the towel over herself.

"I don't recall saying otherwise." She took his hand, securing it gently.

He followed her without a moment's hesitation. Being able to lie with her and snuggle close had felt so wonderful last time. He could easily just sleep with her curled up in his arms every night if she'd let him.

She felt she slept better with him - but doing that every night would mean she was attached. That wouldn't do. Better to keep a safe distance, even if she longed for anything else.

So once his spectacles were off and his cane was set aside, she was already in his arms, eating up as much of his space as possible.

He didn't mind in the least bit, slowly carding his fingers through her still-damp hair. Oh if only they could lie like this every night...

She gazed at him for a silent moment before closing her eyes and drifting off. If things could just stay like this, forever, things would be perfect.

[richestduck]

If she would let him, he'd happily make this permanent.

But even as he drunk in her scent and closed his eyes, he knew that wasn't possible. Magica would move on in time. He just...needed to keep that in mind.

In the morning, Magica woke up first. She knew breakfast would be soon, then their separate duties... but she didn't want to separate so soon. She laid her head on his chest, quietly listening to his heart beat.

Just like before, he held her tightly in his sleep. Even if she wanted out, she'd have to convince his sleepy mind to set her free. She was his and he would keep her close.

A knock on the door, that would be Clara. Magica looked at the door... but didn't get up.

Clara appeared to get the message, as the sounds that followed signaled her putting the tray on the floor and walking away.

With a sigh, Magica idly stroked Scrooge's face.
