MerMarch because i said so

1.Good: Everything said about merfolks is wrong. They are reclusive, but not evil. Especially not this one. Maybe they even saved you. No matter what, they love you, absolutely. And, were you to be honest, it was love at first sight on your end, too. But that doesn't mean you can be together...at least, not easily.
2. Bad: Come, jolly sailor bold. Come into the arms of a mermaid, and you will not regret it. They will hold you, and you cannot resist, even as you're dashed against the rock.
3. Wild: Good and evil cannot be applied to mermaids here, for they are like any other wild creature, more beast than man. Yet the more they're exposed to the kindness of humans or others who live on land, the more fond they grow towards it - and those who show them that kindness.
4. Ignorant: The mermaid's intentions are good, yet he or she doesn't realize what they could do to hurt their land dweller lover.
5. The Mermaid Dilemma: What can be done if someone wants to do more with a mermaid than give them kisses or sweet words? Not much, it seems. At first glance, that is, though who knows what can happen if one puts their mind to it.
6. Not What Was Expected: Beauty is always expected of a mermaid, but what if such a creature looked more like this? Who could care for such a beast? Well, there's still charm there, and with enough personality, appearances can be looked past.
Scenarios:
1 ♢ Little Mermaid
♢ Mer
♢ One of you is a mer person with something you want. The other is a powerful mage who can possibly give it to you. Can an arrangement be made...?
2 ♢ Exploration
♢ Mer and/or Human
♢ Whatever you are, your curiosity has gotten the best of you. Whether it's a sunken shipwreck on the bottom of the ocean or a mysterious cove hidden away along the cliffside... Venturing with a friend or running into something unexpected... What will you find?
3 ♢ Exchange
♢ Mer and/or Human
♢ Sometimes, territories are broached, but it's not always a bad thing. Whether you're of entirely different species, or just from different seas, you've met in peaceful circumstances- perhaps as a direct result of those! So it's time for a cultural exchange. Just ignore the fresh water mer.
4 ♢ For Science
♢ Mer and Human
♢ This is a one in a lifetime chance.... for at least one person. Are you on an isolated island? A ship far out to sea? A highly funded aquarium? Or perhaps even a laboratory with more than questionable methods... Either way, you have the chance now to study something rarely seen before. How will it turn out for both of you?
5 ♢ Ariel's Dream
♢ Mer and/or Human
♢ Some say it's impossible for a mer to live on dry land... except that's been quietly proven wrong. One of you has taken to living among humans, whether for years or still learning the ropes. As for the other... Are you a concerned friend, checking in on them from the sea? Or are you a landdweller, stumbling onto a great secret?
6 ♢ Sea Life
♢ Mer and Human
♢ While they have the legs for landdwelling, some humans seem to have more saltwater in their veins than blood, and those are the kinds of humans that end up with dealing with the mysteries of the sea the most. A surfer catching waves with shark mer? A pirate bartering with sirens for safe passage? A fisherman working together with those who know fish best? There's all sorts.
7 ♢ Stranded
♢ Mer and Human
♢ Well, carp. Good job. One way or another, you're stuck where you shouldn't be. Whether that's a human lost in the tides, or a mer trapped against the land, you need help.... So don't be picky with what you do get.
8 ♢ Siren Song
♢ Mer and Human
♢ Sometimes, there's a good reason people fear the too wide expanse of the sea, or how deep its depths an reach... Strange songs which string through coastal towns and cause disappearances... The sound of something slipping through the water around a ship in the dead of night... Unexplained shapes which flicker outside of deep-sea vessels or submarines or installations. Do you want to know what's out there?
9 ♢ Capture
♢ Mer and Human
♢ Sometimes, there's a good reason why people fear humans. You don't belong here, being gawked at through thick aquarium glass or trapped in a too-small freakshow tank, but what can you do? Is there anyone who cares for your plight, or are there only people responsible for it?
10 ♢ Chance Encounter
♢ Mer and Human
♢ Well, this is awkward. You didn't mean to stumble onto a mer just... there, doing whatever, on the beach or by the docks or tangled up in your fishing net, but, well. It's happened. Now what?
11 ♢ Transformation
♢ Mer and/or Human
♢ For one reason or another, you want to go where you've never gone before... A mer, venturing on the land either as a rare chance or every day business? Or a human, accepting some sort of trade or just to run away from the life you have now? Either way, it might get messy.... Feel free to mix in with other scenarios.
12 ♢ Fantasy Meets Fantasy
♢ Mer and OTHERS!
♢ Who's to say that humans are the only other creatures in the world? Maybe people living beneath the sea's waves aren't the only strange things. Maybe there are centaurs who travel along coastal roads to watch the night sky along with mer astronomers. Perhaps selkies are just distant cousins. Or who's to say that mer can't be a host of things unto themselves? The ocean's the limit.
13 ♢ Sci-fi
♢ Mer and Human
♢ Some say astronauts are nothing more than sailors venturing off into another unexplored sea, one that's above instead of below. And, befitting those same sailors of older days, they seem to tell tails of strange melodic frequencies coming in over the radio to their ears, and strange comets that look like tails passing them by on a landed planet. Do they not know what's accompanying them in space, or is that what they're actively chasing?
14 ♢ Divinity
♢ Mer and Human
♢ There are stories told of what exactly it is that could be both human and fish... So it's not surprising that, eventually, one would land upon calling them divine entities, either gods of the sea or lakes, or just their messengers. Is that true, or just a very clever, long lasting ruse?
15 ♢ Afterlife
♢ Mer and/or Human
♢ Some say mer are just humans, wrongfully forced overboard by superstition or cruelty and welcomed by the sea into something more. Others say that they're the spirits, haunting a particular sea or lake town for a wrongful death. What's the truth? Time to find out.
16 ♢ Peaceful Living
♢ Mer and/or Human
♢ Not everything has to be a dramatic mess. Sometimes, things just... work out for the best. These are better times, and mer are just another part of life. Water-side towns where everything is built around those that share the waters with them, or huge metropolises with water tubes and sprouts for mer to travel through. How will you imagine this sort of life?
17 ♢ Wildcard
♢ follow your dreams, make up whatever

Nino Lahiffe | Miraculous Ladybug
for Webby!
And he didn't feel bad about! Nope, not at all. It was like any other con he'd ever run. There wasn't a guilty bone in his body as he approached Duckburg Bay that afternoon.
Or so he'd keep telling himself.]
Webby? You out here?
no subject
Who could ask for anything more?
His calling got a playful response - she hid in the water, and then suddenly sprang up on a rock, shooting water out of her mouth to hit his cheek. Bulls-eye!]
Ha ha ha ha! Got you!
no subject
You sure did, Webs. [He smiled and reached into the pocket of his hoodie, producing from it an empty plastic water tumbler.] Brought you something new today.
no subject
What is it, what is it, what is it? Is it some sort of weapon you use against your foes, or a toy you play with in your 'houses'?
no subject
[That's right, he's just going to keep talking and ignore her cute little tail splashing.]
But... Kind of? This is used to contain small dangers! It's impenetrable!
no subject
Wow... that's amazing! I can't believe you'd part with something so valuable... Oh, speaking of which!
[She holds onto the rock to flip over into a sitting up position - and this may be more difficult to ignore... as she's now got a huge patch of missing scales. Since she's still so young, it's taking time to grow back all the ones she's given him.
But with a hum, she plucks one off.]
Here you go!
no subject
They're not growing back in so quickly, huh?
no subject
[Helpless shrug.]
It does make the water kinda chillier, and maybe just makes me the tiniest bit more sensitive...
[In other words, having that open patch does... hurt. How's that gut now, Louie?
She shakes her head, dismissing it.]
But! It's totally worth it for the treasure!
[With that, she yanks the 'Jar of Wonders' and holds it up to the sky to admire it.]
Oh, yeah, this one is definitely going to the top of my collection! Right next to the Trident of Power.
[Such a gorgeous... fork.]

usami donald!
Yes, many went to the Sea Witch to get what they wanted... but no one ever thought to ask what she wanted.
Maybe if they had asked, they wouldn't get an honest answer. After all, who would believe the truth? That she spent many a day hidden behind large rocks on a quiet shore, gazing longingly at a lone young man on the beach? That she was too afraid to approach him, because their differences were too great? Oh, with her magic, it would have been easy to give herself actual legs, or to ensnare his heart... but those wouldn't be real.
And to her, it was better to have a sad nothing than to have a happy lie. So she watched, and sighed, at her darling little sailor.]
no subject
Mostly because he was just bored. There wasn't really much to do in the small island kingdom, between explorations for the prince. As much as he disliked the more strenuous parts of sailing, he did love being out on the ocean.
With a sigh, he turned and was about to make the walk back to his home, a strong wind suddenly picked up, catching him by surprise, especially as it ripped his hat from his head. He gave a startled noise, trying but failing to catch it before the wind carried it off, and with an initial stumble he chased after it.]
no subject
... But she did mind the hat heading her way. No. Oooh no. No no no no.
She froze, just as the hat, for the moment, plopped onto the water mere inches from the rock where she had hidden behind. For the average man, it was a simple walk, though he'd soak his legs.
From where she was, her bottom half was hidden under the water. Even so, she begged him not to come this way. Surely he didn't value his hat that much. It was just a hat, after all. Abandon it and leave! Don't come any closer!]
no subject
On the one hand, landing in the water made the hat to heavy to be picked up by the wind again. On the other, he has to wade into the water to get it, and the ripples formed from his movements sends the hat drifting closer to the rock.
Eventually he does catch up to it, though, and snatches it up with a huff.]
Aw, phooey... [He mumbles a bit under his breath as he wrings the hat out, still standing very close to the rock.]
no subject
... except...
... He's so close now, and she's never seen him up close before. The longing strikes hard, and no one ever said love and logic went hand in hand. Maybe he'll be already on the way back by the time she dares. And when will she ever have another chance like this?
So against all common sense, she slowly, s-l-o-w-l-y, looks around the rock at him, and, goodness, he was even more handsome than she first thought.]
no subject
...and then swallows hard as his heart hits the top of his throat. Because there is a beautiful woman, looking almost shyly from the other side of the rock.]
...W-Wow...
no subject
Her eyes widen, and she darts behind the rock - What now?! She couldn't just dive under the water now, that raised the risk of him seeing "that" part of her - but that risk still stayed if SHE stayed! What did she do?! In her cave, faced with pathetic young mermaids, she was confident, even seductive at times, but this?
If lighting could strike her now and kill her instantly, that'd be swell. What are the odds that he'd just leave after spotting her?]
no subject
H-Hey, uh...Miss? Are you all right? Are you hurt?
[Because he can only think that maybe she was shipwrecked, and just managed to find her way to their shores.]

Scrooge McDuck | Ducktales 2017
Scrooge slid through the water in seal form, smiling to himself as he chased a few herring for supper. He wasn't entirely satisfied by them, but food was food.
Though, hello, what was that lovely smell?
Land food was always a real treat given it didn't largely consist of fish and taste predominantly of salt. He turned his attention to the shore, circling closer and periodically breaking the surface to take a peek and catch more of that delicious smell.
no subject
As the warm of the fire got through to her, she pulled down the hood of her robe - revealing quite the young beauty. Even though there were dark circles of exhaustion underneath her eyes, and her body was thinning, there was a natural allure to her that undeniable. She ripped off a piece of meat, grumbling once more as she chewed.
no subject
He then made his way down the coast in plain view of her, dressed in simple pants and shirt. He raised his hand to greet her.
"Hello!" he called.
no subject
She could see someone was approaching, but couldn't quite see who, nor did she care. Last thing she needed was another idiot bothering her - gods, it was cold out. She shivered, and threw another stick into the fire.
no subject
He stopped. "If I bring you more driftwood, do you mind if I have a little of that delicious smell?"
no subject
"... It had better be a big piece of driftwood."
no subject
Grabbing it from the ocean would be fastest, but wet wood didn't burn well. Instead, he paced down the beach, tucking large branches of driftwood under one arm.
He wandered around for fifteen minutes before returning with his arms piled high with driftwood.
"Will this do?" he asked playfully.
no subject
"Fine, whatever." She waved dismissively. Only when he set the wood down did she actually look at his face. "Take it and-"
HELLO, HANDSOME. Her mouth dropped open in an entirely undignified fashion.
