sweet dreams are made of these / who am I to disagree (scrooge x magica)
Magica was tempted to throw the ridiculous thing out - Roberta meant well, but really, a dreamcatcher? At her age? Maybe it was Magica's own fault for complaining so much about her dreams. She didn't think her friend would take them seriously - especially since Magica wasn't telling the whole truth about those dreams. They involved Scrooge, but they weren't exactly nightmares...
"Bah", she said out loud, setting it up above her bed before blowing out the candles. "Maybe a good night's rest will give me a good idea on how to get the dime out of that old miser's hands." Satisfied with that, she tucked herself into bed, and drifted off into sleep easily enough.
Roberta, however, also hadn't told the whole truth about the dreamcatcher. It wasn't meant to catch dreams - it was meant to give them, and connect them. Maybe this would make her stubborn friend admit one or two things in the morning. She meant well!
In the world of dreams, Magica found herself where she usually did - at the Money Bin, ever so close to snatching the time from its sacred pedestal. The strange thing, though, was that Magica was fully aware it was a dream. How strange! Weren't dreams supposed to feel real until you woke up?
Oh well. What difference did it make? She carefully lifted the glass top off, thinking she was alone in Scrooge's office.

Oh, no. Oh no....
"Hang on a minute." She held up a finger, quietly starting to panic on the inside. "I know I'm wrong, I have to be wrong, but... did you have a... 'unusual' dream last night?"
He was going to say no! He had to say no! If Roberta wanted to live to see tomorrow, he had better say no!

Then a terrible thought came to him. The dream catcher! What if she was the one he got it from? What if all this was a cruel game to make him look the fool, to make him suffer?
He looked at her, tried to read something in her eyes. But they only reflected confusion. He saw no malice, no triumph that he had fallen for her.
But if she had actually gone so far to make him suffer, he had to give in...
"If..." He had to swallow, it felt like he was about to be executed. "If it was you who gave me this dream catcher..."
He continued to observe her reaction.
"Then congratulations, you have won, you have managed that I completely fall for you ... I hope the price you had to pay was worth it..." Because if the dream had left a mark on her, it also meant that she had given herself to him. That it had been as real for her as it had been for him.
In his eyes it sparkled devilishly. If everything was already lost anyway, he could at least take a small price.
Quick as a flash he bent over and caught her lips in a deep kiss.
Then he let go of her and turned his back to her.
"Do whatever you came for..." over his shoulder he looked at her. "I found pleasure in our quarrels as long as you fought with fair means, but if what I suspect is true, then I was wrong about you..."
He could not prevent that a plea lay in his gaze and voice. Maybe...
He sighed deeply and then looked her straight in the eyes again.
"I love you..."
It sounded like a challenge.

Oh no.
You have no idea... how many times I've pleasured myself at the thought of you.
Oh no.
I... need you... I need you now!
OH NOOO!
It HAD been real! All of it! Beginning to end! She told him everything, she slept with him, and it had all been real! ROBERTA WAS SO DEAD!
Even worse - he thought she planned it?! As if she'd been trying to seduce him?! This was mortifying! She wanted to hide under a rock and never come out! She was panicking so much that she didn't hear everything he said, she was trying to think, he had to let her explain, it wasn't fair if he didn't let her explain -
And then he kissed her, and her brain shut up.
Wait. Wait. Wait. What? This was too much at once. He wasn't implying... she was the mystery woman...?
Her mouth hung open in shock when he pulled away. Then... everything he said that night, everything he claimed to feel... was true?
"... I." She started, failed, then started again. "I didn't... give you that dreamcatcher." First things first, they had to get the explanation out of the way. "... My friend Roberta... who I promise you I am going to murder... gave me one. And I had no idea this would happen between us! I... I thought it was just a dream, that you weren't real in it!"

He had talked himself into such rage with his suspicion of betrayal that the thought had never come to him that she could feel the same way he did.
Suddenly his heart was beating up to his neck that it made him dizzy. Hesitantly he walked towards her. Now he just had to touch her or he would lose any hold. His hands lay only slightly on her hips without really holding her. Then with a deep sigh he put his forehead to hers and closed his eyes for the moment.
"If you thought that there would be no consequences to what you do..." He started carefully. "Does that mean... it was all true?"
Now he withdrew a little to look her in the eye.
"That you adore me. That you... " He had to swallow. "That you desire me?"
And another question left him no peace.
"Why did your friend even come up with the idea of giving you... us this dream catcher?" Now his voice sounded worried and he stroked tenderly over her cheek. "Did she want to expose you? Do you have problems in the world of witches because of... because of me?"
no subject
"N-No, Roberta's actually one of my closest friends." Hard as that was to believe now. "She just... acts without thinking, sometimes, in order to help people. She... must have thought this would... make me happy, somehow." And it did, for one night. But about beyond that? Did this plan have anymore steps to it?
"She would never do anything to willingly hurt me, but... she probably didn't see this coming." Who did? She felt she couldn't move without touching him more. A part of her couldn't help but wonder if this was a dream too.
Then with a difficult sigh, she closed her eyes, trying to forced the words out. "Because I didn't think it really was 'you' last night... everything I said was true. Every last thing."
no subject
"Well, if you'd known it was really me, you never would have let anything like this happen between us even if I wanted it the same way..."
It hurt, but much more hurt him to see that she suffered because of him.
"Listen, it's enough for me to know that you never intended to hurt me that way. I realize you never wanted this dream to come true so..." It was really hard for him to say it. "Will it always remain only a dream, if you want it to be that way..."
Scrooge looked very embarrassed. "I suppose you heard what just happened in here. I can't go back myself..." Somewhat desperate but also apologetic he looked at her. "I have had these feelings for you for many years, but it was only through the work of the dream catcher that I became really aware of exactly what these feelings are."
He smiled very bravely, it was really not his intention to make her feel guilty. He couldn't nail her to the things she had told him in a dream and in a frenzy of lust when she didn't want to. "As I said before..."
He looked deep into her eyes, he would always keep so much pride in himself.
"I love you... for many years, I love you."
He took another step back to give her more space. "But I am satisfied that it remains a dream. I never want to press you. It is not your fault that I feel this way, please do not make it your burden. You can leave my office and the next time you try to get to my dime. Nothing will have changed between us. I promise you that. Our time together is far too precious to me to risk losing it."
His look showed sadness but above all a lot of pride and strength. "I am Scrooge McDuck. I can only grow from it."
no subject
"... How dumb are you, McDuck!"
She could nearly smack him! But settled for a stomp of her foot. "Nothing will have changed? You have to be insane to think that would work! Last night we went on and on AN ON about how much we want each other, we didn't just have sex we... " She hesitated, mostly because it was embarrassing to say out loud. "... made love... and you except both of us to just carry on as if it never happened?"
Sure, their feelings were weird and complicated, but ignoring them wasn't going to help either of them. They couldn't go back to the way things used to be, that option was now long gone.
"I don't know what we have, but we have something. And you just thinking we can erase it with a snap of our fingers is all almost insulting."
no subject
He buried his face in his hand in a gesture of despair. "I'm just trying to give you the chance to get out of here if you wish."
Slowly he lowered his hand so that his penetrating gaze hit her directly into the soul.
"For if you stand here before me for a moment longer, I can guarantee nothing more..." Almost threateningly he took a step towards her. "Or do you think my desire for you is satisfied after just one night?"
She was still standing against the wall and he slammed both fists against it next to boths sides of her head.
"I love you and I desire you so much that it almost tears me apart. But I don't want to do anything to you that you might not agree to. Don't you understand that?"
His gaze was begging. "I am ready to do anything for you. And if that meant forgetting last night then I will and if it kills me."
His face approached hers so that he could feel her warm breath on his lips. "But for that I would need distance... so tell me what you want..."
His gaze was piercingly directed at her beautiful black eyes.
"Go now and let us forget or become mine!"
A part of him wondered if he would really be able to let her go. But the man of honor in him was stronger than any desire, at least for now...

Her heart jumped into her throat. She didn't think he'd be this bold and say such things out loud so easily, when she mumbled and whispered her own admissions.
Well, if he would do anything, would he hand over the dime? ... No, that question would just make things worse. He was in no mood for teasing.
But at the same time... and she knew it was wildly inappropriate...this was making her warm all over. She bit down on her lower lip, feeling her heart race. She knew he was a man of honor and conviction, so he wouldn't force her. But... still... could she push it a little further? She wasn't a good person, after all.
"If I wanted to leave, don't you think I would've done so already?" She tried to sound more confident than she felt, his gaze setting her on fire. It was getting harder to think straight.
"You're... still so foolish, Scrooge..."
no subject
"But never let yourself be seen in Duckburg again afterwards. The hand of Midas may bring you immeasurable wealth. But that doesn't buy you the finesse and influence I have built up over my many years. Rich or not, you will not be able to gain a foothold in this city until I allow it..."
He gave her a moment to let his words take effect. "But apart from that I'm afraid you still don't understand me..." He approached her so close that he pressed her against the wall with his whole body, only slightly, but so that she could feel what she had triggered in him. "Even though I'm almost mad with desire for you, I won't sleep with you before you give me an answer". Teasingly he drove his hand along her body until he could grab her at the waist and pull her closer to him.
"I said become mine."
A little closer. "I didn't say, "Let me have your body." I want you all or not at all. Forever!
His lips were so close to hers but he refused to close the gap.
"After the eternity in which we know each other there is really no need for reflection any more. You know everything from me and I from you..."
With his gaze one could have even divided air into two clean halves, so sharply was it.
"Go now and let us forget or agree to become my wife!" He repeated his words more explanatory.
no subject
Why hadn't he used that threat before? It was certainly making her stop to think - but not for long, as he suddenly pressed their bodies together. It rammed a spark into her body, and she almost yelped. All the memories of that night flooded back at once.
For a maddening second, she thought he'd have her right then and there - and she wouldn't exactly have fought it. He knew she wanted him, so why did he feel a need to tease? Didn't he have what he wanted right now? The admission of her feelings, whatever they were?
... Then came that last word that threw her off.
"Your WHAT?!" Did she hear him right?! Wife?! W-w-wife?! Who said anything about marriage! They hadn't even gone on a single date yet!
no subject
"I'm sure no couple who ever got married knew each other as well as we do."
He put her hand on his heart and held it there. His voice sounded confident and firm but his gaze was full of tenderness. He knew that he had completely overwhelmed her, but he would not be satisfied with less.
"How much longer should we dance around each other until the "right time" has come? We know each other at our worst. What remains to be learned we can also find out about ourselves together."
His fingers caressed her hand while he was talking.
"We fought side by side, saved each other's lives and even had dinner together without a love potion, if it had to be a "normal" date."
He lovingly stroked her hair. He just loved to play with it, so silky soft it glided through his fingers.
"Tell me what more proof do you need? The world would tremble before us if we wanted it that way. You would be the richest and most powerful witch in the world. Even your magical mission would be fulfilled."
He gently kissed her forehead. He didn't dare to touch her any more at the moment without ravishing her. "I told you last night that I want you to always look at me. I don't want to share you with anyone. You shall belong only to me."
His eyes were dark with longing. "Can you look me in the eyes and say that it is completely absurd that we belong together forever?"
no subject
But then... he raised an awfully good point. She blinked as she thought it over.
If she did become Mrs. McDuck, she'd be filthy stinking rich.
Sure, she wouldn't be free to spend his money - shoot, he never spent his own money! - but she'd have all the things the Midas Touch was supposed to give her. A mansion, servants, hot meals all the time...
...So what if the world thought she was a gold digger? Who cared? She'd have all the money she could ever want, and she would have Scrooge. It was a win-win.
All at once, her body relaxed. Suddenly everything became clear.
If he wanted an answer, he'd get one - with her suddenly kissing him, deeply.
no subject
"Just so you know, I'll take that as a yes!"
After these short words he again claimed her lips and his tongue begged for entrance.
He kissed her deep and long. She belonged to him. After all those years he finally owned what he had always believed he could never have.
"Yes, the world will declare us crazy..." He meant full of anticipation. "Society will try to convince itself that what we have is not real. That I'm only interested in your magic and you're only interested in my money." His voice still sounded indecently amused." And they will fail miserably at us. No one will ever be able to successfully stand in our way again." In his eyes flashed adventurous charm.
Scrooge was a man of honor but never claimed to be a completly good person.
Otherwise, he wouldn't have fallen in love with a witch.
His eyes were covered with lust when he looked at her. "Let's go home, Magica McDuck. As much as I enjoyed the dream of last night. This time I want to love you in my house. In my bed..." He kissed the mark on her neck. "I think I'll ask Mrs. Quackfaster to cancel my appointments for today..." He meant the lips close to her skin. "I desire you so much my love. I finally want you in reality. I just can't get enough of you..."

But she wasn't going to be entirely submissive. If he wanted all of her, he'd get the sneaky parts too. She snapped her fingers, and her flying broom sat up right, ready to obey her commands.
"If we go out like this, I think we'll give the poor woman a heart attack." Teasingly, she began to push him away with one finger. "So, how's about this? I'll race you home."
She'd eventually have to gather her supplies and Ratface from Vesuvius... but again, details, later. She clutched the broom in one hand, smirking at him.
"If I get there first... you get me the most expensive diamond ring on the market."
no subject
He kissed every spot of naked skin he could reach from his position. "Don't fly away..."
Even if he didn't admit it, he was afraid if he let her go alone now, she could change her mind again.
He didn't mind her sneaky, teasing nature, that's not what it was about. But just at that moment he needed her closeness like air to breathe.
no subject
"All right, all right... but you have to be patient." She warned, holding up the broom between their legs. "I need to concentrate when I fly. Or else we'll crash, and then neither of us gets to have any fun."
She wagged a finger at him. "So, do you think you can behave for... five minutes?"
no subject
Bravely he took a seat behind her on the broom and only held on innocently to her hip. Of course he didn't want to risk her getting hurt because of him.
no subject
It wasn't a far ride to the mansion - it was even faster than a racing car. She held tightly to her broom, making sure neither of them would fall off despite the speed.
Soon enough, they were at his window, and popped inside with one more boost. They landed slowly and softly on the floor, and she held up her broom in victory. "Thank you for flying with Air Magica."
no subject
Nobody had claimed that Magica was the only one who could take advantage of her connection.
He embraced her tenderly from behind again and whispered in her ear. "I hope the next time we are on the way to our honeymoon..."
They landed right in his bedroom. This would require some explanation if they suddenly showed up in the mansion without ever having officially arrived. But he didn't care about that at the moment. He gently turned her around so he could look at her.
"Please tell me I'm not dreaming this time. That you are really here with me..."
He could hardly comprehend his happiness.
no subject
"I'll admit... part of me is still wondering if this all a dream too." She nestled up into his chest, letting her broom fall to the floor, the journey over now.
"But if it is... I never want to wake up. I'll enjoy every lasting moment I can get." She tucked her head under his beak, blissfully content.
