PSL WITH CRYINGLY
This was going to be embarrassing on a number of levels.
To be fair, Umehito Nekozawa had done all he thought he could do in regards to his feelings. But the mighty Beelzenef would not heed his dark prayers, and so the unwelcome sensations lingered in his heart. At times, he wondered if it was a curse laid on him by a stronger force. He didn't tell his family, his servants, or his other club members of this problem, as he didn't want to burden them - nor did he think they could understand. He barely did.
But at the very heart of the matter, he understood this - there was no way they would be together. They were as different as night and day - and he hated day. She deserved someone who could freely bask in the light. So he had decided if he couldn't get rid of his feelings, and if they couldn't be a couple, then he could at least put her under the protection of Beelzenef.
Certain members of Ouran High School had access to the school before it properly opened for classes and clubs, and Nekozawa's family had such privileges. Under the cover of stealth, he made his way to the currently empty classroom that he knew the girl would be in. He knew exactly where her desk was, and as he approached it, he slipped out a small Beelzenef doll, along with a piece of paper. If you wrote someone's name on Beelzenef's back, you were cursed, but writing the name on the front earned you his blessings. The paper explained this - while also explaining why she deserved it, such as her grace, her beauty, her kindness, her charm...
... To an outsider, it just looked like a boy slipping a love letter into a girl's desk.

Did she have many admirers? Yes she did, but she never made it known to others that she was sought out. Perhaps it was because she wanted to focus herself on making clothes, or perhaps because she truly didn't care. However she was someone who acted when people came out open to her. That's what she saw when she arrived to school early. Her family had become one of those select few who were allowed certain privileges at the school.
Standing at the doorway of the classroom door, Miwako held her hand against the frame watching as the boy placed a note onto her desk. She knew what this was and she knew who the boy was. She had seen him a few times and had developed a bit of a crush on him. It was a passing feeling of course, but when she saw him here, standing before her, the feeling came back.
"That.....that's Miwako's desk.....", she said, her voice soft and silent.

Ever so slowly, he turned his head towards her. He hadn't planned on this, and as a result, his mouth stayed open like a dying, gasping fish. No sound came out, and his body began to shake slightly. What now?! What if she wanted to know what he was doing?! What if she wanted to read the letter?!
"I... I... I..."
Then, an idea came to him. With a great big intake of breath, he slammed his hands down on the desk. "I am performing an exorcism!"
It was not a good idea.
"There are evil spirits haunting this desk!"
no subject
"Oh my gosh is this true??? Miwako has been sitting here for months now and it's been cursed?! What should I do?", she said, before she gently gripped his arm. She was definitely scared now and it was visible in her eyes that were close to tears.
no subject
"... Fear not." He eventually said, hoping to make those painful tears go away. "Beelzenef shall dispel of these spirits. There is no force on these plains that is mightier than his magic." Sure, why not. He placed the wooden voodoo doll atop her desk, while still keeping a flat hand on the paper, hoping to block it from her view. "It is the duty of the Black Magic Occult Club to protect students from unholy forces."
no subject
"Is....is everything going to be okay? Will Miwako be able to still sit there?"
no subject
... Even her rings were cute. On cute fingers.
"Yes. His protection shall follow you always." He replied, trying to slide the paper off the desk and attempt to hide it behind his back. "You have no reason to fear... Nor any reason to cry. Please dry your eyes." Please. He couldn't stand to see her upset.
no subject
"It doesn't feel evil anymore. Miwako thinks you did a great job, thank you!" Before the other could even respond, Miwako was already at his side, giving him a hug of gratitude.
no subject
... Oops.
"... Y-You are most welcome." he stammered, fully aware that his face wad burning at this point. Maybe if he patted her back, she'd just think he was trying to comfort her?
no subject
Miwako glanced up at him with a calm and curious expression before she smiled at him brightly. He had saved her desk full of cute stickers and wonderful memories and she owed it to him. So after kicking her feet up a bit, she tapped him lightly.
"Mind putting Miwako down?" She was going to show him her gratitude.
no subject
Speaking of things beyond his control, when he turned around, he was still holding onto the letter behind his back - and now his back was turned towards her. Oops again.
no subject
Once the letter was in her hands, she began to read it and then when she finished, she glanced up at him with a big smile. "You knew.....but you weren't going to do it were you? You were just warning Miwako so she could exorcise her own desk, huh?"

He whipped around so fast that the hood fell right off his head, wondering what he had done to earn so much bad luck. But she was certainly good at saving his behind unintentionally!
"I... uh... that is... Yes!" He cleared his throat, and the puppet on his hand copied his nervous movements. "You aren't aware, but you contain great light within you. It has the power to eradicate evil spirits... But I was not sure if you were ready to take command of this task. Those like yourself should not burden yourself with these problems, when servants of the darkness like myself are always ready to work our magic. Yours is a peaceful life, and it should stay that way."
no subject
In her wave of confusion, she began to jump on one leg then the other before she spun around a bit. "Miwako is really scared here!"
no subject
"Lies! Nothing but lies!" He hissed, shoulders hitched up. "Anyone who could call a being like you evil clearly cannot see past their nose! You... calling you evil is an unforgivable sin! They should be cursed for all eternity for ever implying you are anything but pure!"
no subject
"Thank you very much, Miwako will pay you back.....today!" After all he was being much too kind to her and she didn't even know him that well [except for the minor crush she had on him a while back].

she doesn't even know your name
she doesn't even know your name
Stab. Stab. Stab. Even a direct flashlight to the face wouldn't hurt this much. Thankfully her little sob fest didn't let her see the torment his face was showing, and when she was coming to pet little Beelzenef, he had managed to compose himself. More or less. She was still touching him, after all, so his cheeks still pinked.
"... I have no need for rewards. It is my solemn duty to watch over my fellow students. As for names... I am Umehito Nekozawa, President of the Black Magic Occult Club." A pause. "And this is Beelzenef."
no subject
"Here! Write down your phone number and the times you're available. Miwako is going to do everything she can to pay Neko-kun back!"
no subject
"I... I told you, I don't need to be repaid." Yet he found himself reaching for the pencil and notepad. It couldn't hurt if she knew this information, right? his eyes quickly went down, his voice turning into mumbles as he wrote down what she wanted. "I did it because... I wanted to..."
no subject
"Miwako thinks....there's something more here, isn't there?"
no subject
He seemed to shrink up into himself, and only now did it occur to him to pull his hood back up. "I... I'm very attuned to spirits, and their natural activities..." He said very slowly, hoping to avoid that last bombshell of a question. "And as I said, it's my duty to help all students..." He began to lean forward in a desperate attempt to hide his face, almost pushing his face into the notepad. "And I just... wanted... to protect you...B-Because you... you... you're... so nice."
no subject
"Thank you, really. To think Miwako had a crush on Neko-kun six months before! It's funny that this happened. Anyways Miwako should be getting to her class, we should hang out at lunch! How about it?"
no subject
With a humble bow, he turned to take his leave, and WAIT A MINUTE.
His head whirled around so fast that his black wig began to slide over a few inches, revealing strands of blonde hair. This was ignored.
"Say that again."
no subject
But then he just agreed to it. So Miwako began to fiddle with her index fingers before she tilted her head side to side, her face becoming completely red.
"M-Miwako.....had a crush on Neko-kun six months ago?"
no subject
"'Had' a crush." He repeated, sucking back some saliva. "Which means... you no longer have a crush on me?"
The answer to that question would either save him or be the final nail in the coffin. His fingers curled up, digging into his skin, and even his puppet seemed to shrivel up in worry.

"... I have... a clothing line?" He was so distracted by that information that his heart wasn't hurt. "I'm... flattered... I had no idea you noticed me that much."
no subject
"Miwako did but then....she figured Neko-kun would never notice her so she forgot."
no subject
As for the blushing boy, he swallowed heavily before daring to ask yet another question. "Can I... Can I see these... pieces, sometime?"
no subject
"W-Whenever Neko-kun is free of course!", she quickly added.
no subject
Instead of a formal bow or a sweeping gesture, he simply began to walk away, hoping he was smiling as stupidly as he thought he was. He chuckled under his breath, accidentally creeping out the students that had gathered at the door.

When the time came for school to be over, she texted Nekozawa her address. When he arrived there, he would be greeted by the site of a large studio that doubled as Miwako's work station. Her real home was farther behind, but this was the place where she brought her creations to life.
When the boy arrived to her studio, she opened the door to reveal she had changed both her hairstyle and makeup. She was wearing a strapless black dress with white leggings and platform shoes. Her hair was long and loose, and her ears were laced in multiple earrings. Inside the studio everything was white save the pink decorations that littered the place. In the middle of the studio stood ten mannequins, all wearings the designs she made. Each and every single one was a variant of gothic lolita and punk rock.
"Come in! Would Neko-kun like some tea or some sweets?", she said, blushing as she moved aside.

As soon as the doors opened, his eyes bounced all over the room - were these the fabled 'pieces' inspired by his aura? But then his eyes rested on her, on that perfectly macabre outfit, and nothing else could grab his attention. He cleared his throat, and both he and the puppet bowed. "Lady Miwako... Many thanks for allowing me into your humble abode. If are going so far as to offer sustenance, I shall gladly partake of it."
no subject
"Please sit down. Miwako can model off the clothing if Neko-kun wants that.", she said, sitting down on a large classical couch. She placed the tray on the glass table before her.
no subject
"Thank you." He decided caviar and tea would do for now, and Beelzenef took it upon himself to meticulously hold the tea cup. He sat down next to her, keeping up his unusually chipper smile. "... I must admit, I am intrigued to see the fabric that came from my visage. Please, honor me with their appearance."

In less than ten minutes, Miwako stormed out the bathroom, wearing a long black trench coat, a white shirt covered in crosses, and a mini skirt. She wore thigh highs that were covered in black roses, and the platform shoes she had on before. She walked in front of Nekozawa and spun around a few times before stopping.
"How does....Miwako look?"
no subject
... And there she was. He looked up, and sucked in air. So much for giving up on his feelings - he felt like he was falling for her all over again as she showed off the amazingly gothic outfit before him. It even caused him to speak without thinking. "You're... You're the princess of darkness!" he blurted out, embarrassed immediately.
