Impress Your Crush - Antoine & Bunnie - Play post With Crim
It's only natural that you'd want to impress the person you're crushing on or having feelings towards. You want to win their favor, for sure, and you want to spend time with them. So you have to get them wanting to spend time with you. You'll do anything!
The best way, of course, to go about it is to not try too hard. You can do that, can't you?
...can't you?

Antoine himself couldn't be happier with his choice of partner. Bunnie Rabbot was always a great ally to have, and when they worked together in battle, they left no foe unscathed. But for the coyote, it was lately becoming more than that - it was if they were in sync, in harmony, almost able to read each other's thoughts and able to work off each other's attacks. He had always admired her resilience, how she kept moving forward despite her changed body, and for the past couple of weeks, admiring turned into...
Really admiring. Really, really, REALLY admiring. Or, to put it in simpler terms, he was falling for her hard, and he knew it. It was different than the feelings he used to have for Sally, if you could call those feelings - this was on a whole different level. Which made him frightened of screwing things up like he had with Sally. He had to do this right. He had to win her over, show her that he wasn't just a pompous fool who was afraid of his own shadow. Just how to do that remained to be seen.
The sun had started to set, casting long shadows from the trees. "You..." Antoine started with a squeak, desperate to speak for the sake of speaking. Say something cool. Say something impressive. Say something daring. "You are really saving my hide back zere!"
Dammit.

This time his attempt at conversation was clumsy at best made her giggle to herself. "Oh, Ah don't think ah can take all the credit for that, Antoine." She said with a wink, implying that others on the team had saved his hide on occasion.
They all did though. That's what working in a team was about.

In the conversation proper, he winced at the implication, mostly because it was true. "... I am admitting... I should have, perhaps, done more of ze fighting instead of ze bragging." To his credit, lately his ego had been shrinking and he was realizing the cost of his arrogance. "B-but next time, I will use none of ze mouth, and all of ze force! After all, you are having more important things to be doing zan to be saving me so much."

It was a terrifying, menacing, angry looking Crab Meat robot. If Antoine wanted to impress Bunnie with his skills on this ultra terrifying enemy, now was his chance!

... Well, screaming like a young schoolboy wasn't going to win him any points, that's for sure. But after the few seconds of being startled, it hit him - this was fate! Destiny! If he could take down this one robot - and surely he could win against just one - this could change Bunnie's opinion of him! It might make her want to spend time with him, or even admire him! Why, it could...
Oooh, Antoine, you're so cool! The way you took that nasty ol' bot down was so manly and brave! I just feel so safe with you near~! ♥
... Okay, he was getting ahead of himself. He cleared his throat, whipping out his sword from his scabbard and taking a step forward. "Stand back, mademoiselle! I'll take care of zis pesky thing!"

Rather than take the moment to shoot it, she trusted that he would be true to his word.

Er, he meant, OF COURSE HE DID.

Bunnie giggled and looked to her comrade and friend; Best friend. "Looks like that makes us even for the day."

... And he suppressed it. He placed the sword back in its scabbard, turning back to her. "Hardly." he finally said, deciding to be honest. "One victory here cannot come close to ze great things you have accomplished... Maybe next time."

She felt her heart skip and a warm smile cross her face. "..Thank you, Sugah." She took a few steps back and gave him a quick peck on the cheek. Even if he could stand to choose a few less words in a fight, he was still her greatest hero.
That's all that mattered.

Antoine's ears shot up, as did his tail, and his cheeks flushed a deeper shade of red than any Crab Meat could ever be. Even his deluded fantasy hadn't included anything as sweet as that! "I... ah... Y-You are being welcome!" He squeaked, and quickly walked ahead, hoping she wasn't noticing how utterly flustered he was -
And tripped right over the damn crab. Because of course he did.

"W-wait for meee!" He stammered, rapidly crawling at the ground - and in the process kicking the Crab Meat profusely - in order to get up and jog after her.
