Prompts
When I First Saw Your Face: You are meeting your liege or your knight for the first time. What you see takes your breath away.
Lovesick: Your pining for your beloved has made you ill! You can't eat, you can't sleep, you're in loves throes.
Playing Hard to Get: If you're of nobility, you at least have to pretend you're not interested.
You're So Coy: The art of flirtation is just getting started, but you have to be subtle about it.
In Your Honor: Be it a jousting match or a battle, you're going to win this for your lord/lady's name!
A Token: You must give your knight something for good luck.
A Gift: This is the reverse of the above. You must give your love something.
Keep a Secret: Kisses behind columns, holding hands under the table. You must sneak away little moments together, but you have to keep others in the dark.
Back from War: Your knight has been away in combat, and now they've returned. You want to shower them with affection.
Consumate: Believe it or not, courtly love could have a physical angle, as well. Sometimes physical affairs happened.
To Defend Your Honor: Someone has insulted your fair lady or lord. You know what that means! DUEL.
I'll Protect You: The lands are under an attack, and you must protect the person you love!
Breaking the Rules: You've decided to abandon the pretense of courtly love and actually be with this person, even if that means running away.
That gets him to smile, if only for a moment. She's so kind.
"Well.." He sits on a bale of hay, and looks down at the ground. "It's kind of hard to explain, because I don't totally understand it. It's always scary to go into a real battle, but this is different! It shouldn't- But I guess there's still a lot of pressure, so I don't know. Still, I know I can do okay at these things. I just... Worry I won't."
Oh. His hand feels so warm against her shoulder, she can't help but lean a little against it. And he's been dropping the "Miss" so much... She gets a little bolder and reaches up to rest her hand on his.
It's okay. It's okay, because he knows now that she likes him - and the way she addresses him just then reinforces the notion. So... Maybe he can start being brave now, here in the stables, before he has to go do it in front of a crowd.
The only thing is, Kotori matters so much more than that whole crowd.
Still, blushing, he leans down and presses a kiss to her forehead. "Thank you."
For a second Kotori is stunned. And turning scarlet. She... MIGHT have imagined Hunk kissing her. Occasionally. Nothing too improper, right? It's not like she's ever been kissed by anyone outside her family, let alone the knight she's been in love with for, what, a couple of years now who's still totally out of her league.
But that kiss to her forehead... His lips are so... soft... and warm... and gentle. And that smile and blush on his face... DOES he...?
After a second more, her face settles into a smile, warm, shy... but maybe slightly giddy too. There's another idea she's always been too nervous to act on, but... if he just kissed her.
"Do you... still have the lunchbox I gave you? Is it still wrapped up?"
She unwraps the cloth, simple woven wool died in blues and yellows, and surprisingly, sets the box aside on a bench for the moment before holding the cloth out to Hunk.
"Here. Maybe... you can wear this. So that you know I'm supporting you. Like a good luck charm..."
Or a favor. It's totally a favor but she's very shy and trying not to make a big deal in case Hunk refuses.
Hunk smiles warmly, quite touched by the gesture. "I'd love to, Kotori. In fact, I'd be honored to."
He reaches for her hand holding the cloth with both of his own. One hand takes the favor, while the other keeps a hold on hers. Then, he leans down to kiss the back of her hand.
Oh. Oh, she thought the forehead kiss was amazing, but... being kissed on her hand? Like she's a noble lady worth honoring? (HIS lady?) That...
She's even more stunned than before, stays that way even as Hunk rises... but her hand still has enough wit to gently squeeze his hand back until she can respond.
"I uh..." Gulp. "You... should get ready, but... thank you. D-do your best, S--"
She ALMOST lets that pesky little title get in, but...
no subject
Hunk glances at Kotori with gratitude in his eyes. "Are you sure you don't mind?"
He knows her offer is sincere and genuine, but he wants to give her the out. Just in case.
no subject
"I wouldn't offer if I did."
Which is also true, she probably would have given him alone time if he was anyone else. But... this is Hunk, and she wants to at least TRY to help.

"I can understand that... Still... you're not the only one who thinks you can do this. I believe in you too."

"I know the feeling. You remember how scared I used to be of knives, right?"

He chuckles faintly and stands up, putting a hand on her shoulder. "Thanks, Kotori."

"So have you... Hunk."

Re: 2/2
"Oh, yeah! I mean, I knew I'd be too nervous to really appreciate the work you put into it, so I was going to wait a little..."
no subject
"Could I see it real quick?"
no subject
"Here."
