I'm in love with a fairytale / Even though it hurts (donald x daisy)
Many people thought that being a princess was all fun and games, but being the sole heir to an entire kingdom came with its own challenges. There was studying and etiquette, learning the ins and outs of economy and trade, plus the ever dreadful decision about her future husband who would rule the kingdom alongside her. At the very least, Daisy hoped this last matter wouldn't bother her for years to come. She was still a fair young maiden and as far as she was concerned, her heart had already made its choice.
Alas, he was no prince or duke or even a knight.
A grand ball was to be thrown in several days time, which meant her family and the servants were busy preparing for this and that - providing the young princess with many chances to sneak away from her lessons and gaze upon her dearest. She picked up her dress, quickly making her way through the castle until she was out in the fresh air and sunshine. Here on out she had to slow down, lest she be caught - especially by the one she fancied.
Though many would describe her as haughty, perhaps even spoiled and selfish, she was uncharacteristically shy when it came to matters of romance. Oh, she had many a fantasy of seducing and wooing over the handsome lad, but that was for dreams, and reality was unpredictable. She dared to peek her head around the corner hoping to catch a glimpse of the young gardener tending to the gorgeous flowers that bloomed all around the castle.

Now that she had him all to herself, time to investigate! "I hope your... wife? ... won't mind you being so exhausted."

"Oh, forgive me for being so presumptuous." A pause, just to make it seem like she wasn't too eager. "Girlfriend? Significant other? Fair damsel?"

As he entered the castle, he hesitated a moment. He'd never needed to be anywhere this far in before, so he wasn't sure where to go.

Okay, one obstacle down... and several more to go. Getting approval for a peasant to court a royal was going to be far from easy, but she'd always been the apple of her father's eye. Maybe if she laid the right sweet-talk and threw in some presents...
... Why were they stopping?
"... Sir Donald?"

"It's on the second floor, third door to the left. It's got gigantic gold doors, really hard to miss."
no subject
"Should I get the doctor for you after taking you to your room?"
no subject
"Noooo no no no! I... don't need to worry anyone, really!"

"Well, then we better get you to your room so you can rest it some more."

"When we're alone... Can you just call me Daisy?"
no subject
"A-Ah...is...is that okay?" Being so low in rank as he was, the idea of addressing anyone like that was unheard of. Let alone a member of the royal family.

After debating with himself, though, he figured as long as they were alone, as she asked, then it should be okay.
"If that's what you wish, y- er...Daisy," he corrected himself, though addressing her by name would take a lot of getting used to.
no subject
"There, that's much better."

Eventually though, he reached the doors she had mentioned earlier. And somehow managing to get it open while still carrying her, he hesitated a moment before slowly stepping inside.
It was one thing bringing her up to her room. But being inside her room? Just the two of them, unsupervised? He could definitely get in big trouble for this.
no subject
"Thank you ever so much, Donald!"
no subject
"You're welcome."
As he walked farther into the room, he couldn't help glancing around. It was certainly larger than anything he was used to. The room alone as bigger than the house he'd grown up in with his family, let alone the quarters he currently occupied with other groundskeepers for the castle.

Ah...nothing that I can really think of y- er, Daisy.

"Nothing at the moment," he replied.

It was actually really strange, because he could normally think of any number of things he might have wanted. But being asked about it now, his mind was drawing a blank.
no subject
"That means when you think of it, you have to come see me!" She clasped her hands together, eager to seize another opportunity for them to "properly" meet.
no subject
"Yeah, I guess I will...Daisy."

Direct hit with Cupid's arrow, K.O. She flopped onto her back, happy beyond words. "Heeheeheehee."
Do we wanna wrap this thread up soon and continue on the Courtly Meme?
"I'll uh...fetch someone to take a look at your ankle."
consider it wrapped like an x-mas present
"Ah, yes, of course... Thank you again, Sir Donald."

But later that afternoon, a bouquet of flowers, tied with a lacy ribbon, would be delivered to Daisy by one of her ladies-in-waiting, with a message of hopes for her quick recovery.
