There's a strange exhilaration / In such total detestation (scrooge x magica)
Magica's fingers strummed on the desk. Without her phone, she was bored as sin. Her long nails made clacking sounds on the desk, echoing in the empty classroom. Once she got her phone back, the school would pay dearly for this. You didn't give detention to Magica De Spell! So what if she was texting in class? It wasn't like she was learning anything important. They should feel privileged she was there.
But nooo, miss whats-her-face actually reported her to the principal, and here she was. She grumbled, glaring at the clock - time moved way too slowly when you were being punished. How could this get any worse?
The door opened, and she straightened up - maybe someone had used their few brain cells and knew to get her out of there. Nope - instead, things did indeed get worse as she saw one of the teachers shoving Scrooge McDuck into the room.
Great. Fantastic. Add to her punishment, why don't you. She rolled her eyes, leaned back into her seat and propped her legs on the desk.
"What did they send you in here for?" She sneered. "Is being a buzzkill a crime now?"

He lifted his fist with a pleased smirk, showing off the skinned and bruised knuckles. "No, but laying out the quarterback in one punch is."

"Since when do goody-two-shoes pick fights on jocks?" And why wasn't he a mess of broken bones? Was that sweatervest hiding a six-pack?
... Saving that mental image for later, thank you.

Honestly, the things they'd been saying about Matilda...She'd been near-inconsolable when she'd told him last night at home.
"Honestly, that arse is lucky I got to him first and not Hortense."
no subject
She tossed some hair over her shoulder. "If that's true, why isn't the meathead who ran his mouth in here with us? Don't tell me he went down without a fight."
no subject
Then he decked the guy.

She fished around in her pockets for something the teachers didn't confiscate, before remembering she had an extra "purse" around for such occasions.
"You'd better watch your back. Guys like that are into petty revenge." She popped open a button to dig into her bra and popped out a bottle of nail polish. Normally she wouldn't have made the dig if a guy was around, but. Well. There were exceptions to the rule.

"Look nice for who? The blackboard?!" he demanded, still not looking at her in case she was still digging around in her bra.
no subject
"You think girls only pretty themselves up for someone else?" She huffed. "Believe it or not, most women use make-up because they like how they look. Maybe if you actually put any effort into your appearance, you'd understand."

However he did absently run his fingers through his whiskers to try and smooth them out a bit. Really, he got teased for them quite a bit even though they clearly marked him as a member of Clan McDuck...as tiny as their clan was nowadays.

Of course, part of what pissed her off was that he was actually good-looking, despite being a peasant in her view. He'd caught plenty of eyes, definitely unintentionally.
Like a boy pulling pigtails, she retaliated. "You're forgiven for being born poor." She scoffed. "Life's not fair, then you die."
no subject
Probably the wrong thing to say, but he despised how she rubbed his family's poverty in his face. The girl had done nothing for her wealth, and she certainly didn't appreciate it.

She then leaned back, blowing on her nails to dry them off. "Besides, I'm only going to marry anyone richer than me. That'll make me twice as rich. So when it's all said and done, you'll die in a cardboard box while I have my own mausoleum."
no subject
He jerked his thumb towards his chest, turning his head to glare at her. "Just you wait, De Spell! I'll make the name 'McDuck' a legend by being tougher than the toughies and smarter than the smarties all while doing it square! And in time, the man you'll be begging for a ring from will be me!"
If he stopped and thought about it, he'd probably be embarrassed. However, he was angry and refused to be seen as nothing more than dirt.
no subject
Offended, she slammed her hands on the desk before turning to face him. "I wouldn't marry you if you were the last man on earth! If anything, you'll be the one licking my feet, begging for scraps!"
Her top was still one button short, by the way.

"You should have taken your time to enjoy the view. I doubt you'll be seeing anything like it for the rest of your life."

"You wouldn't know real beauty if it flashed you. You weren't just born without money, but without taste."

"Take a look in the mirror if you want ugly, you pathetic little peasant!"
no subject
At this rate, a teacher was going to poke their head in and threaten suspension.
no subject
Even a few students who stayed for after-school activities were probably beginning to overhear this.
no subject
"Mr. McDuck, sit down!" a teacher ordered, the woman poking her head in. "Miss De Spell, clean up that nail polish!"
