If a year or two ago, someone had told Magica she was about to do this, she would have laughed in their faces and slapped them. Magica De Spell, world's greatest sorceress, asking her number one enemy Scrooge McDuck for help? It was madness! It was insane!

... But right now, it was her only option.

Typically she only "attacked" him at work, trying at his actual mansion would be something new. If his family was home, she'd be kicked out in an instant. She had to make this quick...!

She circled the mansion several times atop her flying broom before spotting an open window. It was now or never, she could only hope she was right, and this was the master bedroom! At least there they would have some privacy, and surely he'd be home by now!

She took a deep breath, and then flew straight in, leaping to the floor without a second thought. "Scrooge McDuck!"

He was surprised. How much must she have suffered that this proud woman threw herself into his arms with gratitude? His guilty conscience of having rejected her before became more and more intense.

Carefully he put his arms around her, you could never know when the witch suddenly changed her mind. But for a moment they remained tightly wrapped in the hut while the time stood still. Of course she detached herself from him again at some point.

Smiling he looked into her red face while she stammered an explanation. Was it possible? Was this woman really... cute? Again he put a hand on her shoulder. "Hey, that's all right. I'm really sorry that you and Ratface had to suffer longer than necessary. Let's go, let's save him."

On the outside he seemed very calm, but on the inside he couldn't forget the feeling of her lying in his arms. He would have loved to draw her back to him immediately. But time was short and she would not be very thrilled.

He must not forget that Magica was only concerned with Ratface. Who helped her was completely unimportant.

Magica cleared her throat, trying to pretend she hadn't thrown herself at him like some foolish little girl. "R-right, let's get going!" She didn't even think of packing any luggage, her mind now spinning.

She shook her head, trying to clear it, and gently scooped Ratface into her arms. "Easy now..." She murmured to the bird, as sweetly as any mother to their child. "Let's go right now."
