Daisy!
He's definitely out of his element when it comes to these kinds of shindigs, avoiding them at all cost when his uncle tried to rope him into one. The clothes were uncomfortable, there were too many people, and everything just felt so stuffy and pretentious that he just wanted to start lobbing snowballs at people.
He wouldn't even be here right now, except Daisy had invited him. She was assigned to cover the event for an article in the paper, and had asked him along as her date.
...just for the event. Not that they were actually dating or anything. Of course not.
And really, how could he say no to a pretty gal like that?]
no subject
But, boy. He'd certainly cleaned up, hadn't he? He was already pretty cute, but the outfit he had one made him look like a real gentleman.
... Come to think of it... why couldn't a fake date turn into a real one?]
Are you bored?
[Her hand finds his, giving it a playful squeeze.]
no subject
I wouldn't...say that exactly.
[But yes, extremely bored.]
There just isn't...really much for me to do.
[He doesn't want to ruin this for her, though. He's not sure how much her career was really banking on this particular article, but if it helped he doesn't want to mess it up for her.]
no subject
[She trails off, spotting something on the ceiling nearby.
... Hm. Hm hm hm~ This night could be a lot more fun for him than he expected.]
... Aaactually... There's this really cute light display I want to see. Come on!
[She begins tugging on his arm to lead him away, not really giving him much say in the matter.]
no subject
...But getting to spend time with her wasn't so bad, so he could put up with being here for a little while longer.]
no subject
She cuddles close, grinning.]
I really just love Christmas decorations, don't you?
[Hint. hint. hint.]
no subject
Yeah, it's...nice.
[Honestly, though, he's a bit distracted as he feels her pressing closer.]
no subject
[hinthinthinthint]
Here, there, on the floor... on the ceiling...
[HINTHINTHINTHINT]
no subject
...the ceiling?
[And as he glances up, he stiffens.]
...o-oh.

And Magica!
He doesn't quite know the rules and restrictions that come with magic. All that he knows is that it's complicated and, quite frankly, really stupid.
That's the only way to explain being stuck in a cabin with Magica de Spell after some blunder of a spell she had used, with no way out.
And they call him a screw up.]
Can't you just reverse whatever you did so we can get out of here?
no subject
The latest attempt only made a black 'poof' in her cauldron. A complete dud.]
Oh, shut up! It's not like I wanted any of this! Scrooge was supposed to be in your place as my prisoner! How was I supposed to know this spell aged while I was in the dime?!
[... common sense, maybe???]
no subject
[How the heck could she mess up a spell so badly that it nabbed him instead of his uncle?]
And how does that mean that you're trapped in here too?
[Had that also been part of the plan?]
no subject
When a spellcaster casts a spell incorrectly, the magic punishes the user as well. That's how.
[So shut up.]
... It looks like there's only one way out of this.
no subject
Magic was stupid.]
...What?
[Oh, he knew what she meant. But he didn't want to admit it because of what that meant they actually had to do.]
no subject
[Surely he's not that dumb. She grabs a fistful of his shirt.]
Pucker up.
no subject
Wh-Whoa, hang on...th-there has to be some other way, right?
no subject
I did try every other way! This is all that's left! Now shut up and smooch!

for Mikan! lemme know if anything needs to be changed, winging some of it XD
But things took a strange turn when he met another student, who was studying to be a certified nurse - and Hisao found himself under her insistent care. This, in turn, caused him to be better about taking all the dumb medications he had to take every day, and over the course of the months, he had started to get into somewhat better health.
And in his mind, it was thanks to her. As a result of all of this, of course, they'd become friends, but there was a small problem in his mind - he had started to develop feelings for her past the point of friendship. Trying to be a good person, he tried his best to hide those feelings so as not to potentially harm their friendship and their situation, but it was hard.
It was winter now, and that meant all sorts of decorations had to be hung around the school to make it festive. Months ago, Hisao wouldn't have cared that much - but better health improves morale, and he was happy to see the school get into the spirit.
It was morning, and that meant it probably wouldn't be long before Mikan came along to remind him of his morning meds. Since it was a day off of class, though, he had some other plans in mind - maybe it'd be a good idea for them to hang out for the day?]
no subject
But Hisao was different. Not because he kept forgetting or just giving up on his medication, but he made an effort towards her that others rarely did. He wanted to know her, talk to her, make her happy. It was strange... but it made her happy.
She tried not to think about it too much. One day, he wouldn't need her either.
Hopefully it wasn't today.
She knocked quietly at his door.]
Hisao...? G-Good morning!
no subject
Good morning, Mikan. [Their greetings were routine, at this point, but he was no less happy to see her this morning than he usually was, and he greeted her with a smile.] You doing okay this morning?
no subject
Yes... Everything's been okay so far.
[Then, right away-]
Have you taken your medication?
no subject
Ah, n-not yet. I was about to. [He gets his morning spread of medication ready.]
I was wondering, by the way - do you have any plans today?
no subject
Eh? ... Um, not really... I don't have any patients who asked for me today.
no subject
Well, what do you think about taking a walk around? Some fresh air is always good, right? [And, thankfully, it was a beautiful day outside.]
I think it'd help for you to have a relaxing day, too. So what do you say?
no subject
Oh! Well... Yes, fresh air and exercise is important for people in your condition. It shouldn't be too cold out, either.
