i keep on fallin' [scrooge x magica]
If Magica had a heart, it would've been beating rapidly. Though she had longed to be free of her shadowy prison for centuries, a part of her had given up hope long ago. Even now, with the last of the ingredients gathered, that part of her said something wouldn't work. Scrooge's power wouldn't be strong enough, she'd been trapped too long - and then there was the horror of what if it did work? Would she age rapidly into bones or dust? If she lived, would she be able to adjust in this world? Ultimately, she was more afraid this night than she'd ever been her entire long, long life.
That was probably why she was so silent, as the last of the candles were lit. Technically, everything was being set up perfectly. She stayed on the while, quietly observing, staying as still as she could. Surely something would go wrong. Scrooge would change his mind. They'd gotten an ingredient wrong. Something. Anything.
Of course, stubborn as she was, she wasn't going to tell Scrooge how she felt. Let him draw his own conclusions.
"Hmm..."

"Hmm..."

"A little past sunrise." She finally mumbled, reluctantly understanding that for all the mental screams of blood echoing in her head, she simply lacked the will to follow up. She sighed, putting her hands in her lap, hoping that Scrooge hadn't realized either of their feelings.

"With my magic returned, my energy is limitless. Which is fortunate, should you ever last a little longer than before."

As bland as his face was, there was the faint creep of a blush. He'd enjoyed it but that hadn't exactly been what he'd expected of his first time.

She wasn't really good at planning things ahead, was she?
"And here I thought you enjoyed a bit of adventure here and there." She reached over to stroke the underside of his beak. "Should I give you a warning next time?"
no subject
Luckily for her, he wasn't quite alert enough to have recognized her quiet response to his initial question.
"I'm just saying if you wanted me to last longer, you should've jumped me at some point when I hadn't just finished creating your body out of magic." He paused. "...Somehow that didn't sound as odd in my head as it does out loud."

She slowly dragged her finger away. "Finding it hard to think, Scroogie?"

He was struggling to bring the blush back under control. He hadn't been naive and innocent, but he still had a small streak of shyness in him somewhere. He'd never courted women before though he'd been courted. Being jumped was a new one for him.

"I could have woken you up, I guess." A fake sigh, tossing her hair over her shoulder, before going in for the kill. "But you seemed to be having such a sweet dream... about me." Smirk.

Really, that was the only way to describe the sound he just made. Every feather fluffed up as he turned bright red from embarrassment.
His beak opened and closed, but no other sounds came out.

She settled for an amused giggle, before leaning in dangerously, eyelashes fluttering, licking her lips. "Which makes me curious... what was I doing, darling? Or... what were you doing to me? I'm no fairy, but I could make a few dreams come true." Let him try to talk that way out of that one.

He got to his feet, wobbling a bit as he gave a toothy grin.
"Well, what say you we get something to eat? I for one could eat a whole steer!"
no subject
And then, a fun wink. "My first time in public... I'll try to be a good girl~"

He stiffly walked over to grab his cane. While he did have a slight limp from a previous injury, the cane was more of a tool than anything else. Plus everyone saw the cane and thought "dotty old man".
"Ehm, thank you for cleaning me up, too. Or at least, I assume it was you."
Because it would've been embarrassing to walk around with leftovers from last night in his feathers.
He held out his arm to her.

Truthfully, she was starting to get a little excited. Ground under her feet, air in her lungs, food in her belly - she could finally experience it all again like new.
