First Kiss - Olivia & Xander
When Xander and Olivia had, more or less, announced their courtship, not everyone had approved. After all, she was an outsider in every sense of the world, not to mention there were questions of "gold-digging" and of her inability to become a proper Queen of Nohr. A prince and a dancer - how shameful!
... But even those naysayers would have found it very silly that despite being a couple, the two had yet to kiss.
Olivia blamed herself - though she knew she loved Xander deeply, her shyness controlled almost every waking moment. Just the idea of kissing Xander was enough to make her face go red and her body swoon. Hopefully she'd gain the courage soon. What kind of man would want to be with a woman that flustered? And more than anything, she wanted to make Xander happy. He deserved all the happiness in the world.
For now, she tried to relax and not think about the big issue so much. Xander's family, or at least his siblings, had been very open and welcoming. Elise had even given her a present today - a flower crown! How cute! Olivia was pleased beyond measure, and was now in her room, dipping it in a bowl of water so she could keep it fresh longer.
"Heehee... I wonder what Xander would say if he saw me wearing this."

At present, though, those were the last thoughts on Xander's mind. Right now, he wanted to see his beloved. Since it was evening, he was done with his duties for the day, and instead of returning to his own room, stopped by Olivia's room and knocked on her door.
"Olivia? It's me. May I come in?"
no subject
"Come in, Lord - ah, Xander!" That was another habit she was trying to break, calling him by simply his name without any titles.

"As always, you're a sight for sore eyes. My work for the day is done, so I wanted to check in on you."

"I'm very glad that the two of you have taken to each other so much. I've been hoping you would get along with my family." He tried to imagine Olivia and Elise playing together, but found he couldn't do it justice. There was no way his mind could accurately depict how adorable it would be.
"What did she give you?"
no subject
Another little giggle. "I just wish there was something I could do for her. I've never had a family before, but she knows how to make me feel like a big sister."

Xander then motioned to the bed. "Come, sit closer."
no subject
"I just don't want to take time away from her real family... But you all care about each other so much. I would have thought with different mothers, and the competition of royalty, there would be bad blood... But you're all so happy together."
no subject
"It's because of the competition for my father's attention that we grew close. I lost my mother at an early age, and the others' mothers cared little about them except to gain favor." He closed his eyes as he spoke. "It was the common experience -- and the desire to do something about it -- that initially brought us together."
He then took a deep breath, and opened his eyes. "Forgive me. Court life was the worst part of my younger years."

He placed a reassuring hand on Olivia's knee. "I believe that is vital to a successful relationship."

He lifted his arm and leaned back in the chair. "Would you like to sit in my lap?"
no subject
Her desire fought with her fear - of course she did wanted to! And there's no way you can mess up simply sitting! So with great effort and will, she rigidly stood up, carted herself over, and very slowly sat down. On his lap. Although she needed a couple of minutes before she could face him.

"Make yourself comfortable." Xander's voice came more softly this time. "You can relax while you're in my arms."
no subject
But after a moment, her muscles began to loosen, and her eyes began to close. She allowed herself to lean against his chest and catch her breath. "...Th-thank you."
no subject
"I love you, Olivia."

"If you don't mind, I'd like you to turn around."

...Though he did hold it there for several seconds. But he did pull away much sooner than he would have liked, for her comfort.

When Xander pulled away, Olivia struggled to find words. When she did...
"Th-th-th-thank you!"
no subject
Then he started to laugh. It was just too funny! He pulled Olivia back in close as he laughed.
"I'm sorry for startling you. But from that reaction, I'd say it was well worth it!"
no subject
"... Pfft." She'd never heard Xander laugh before. For the longest time, she didn't think he was capable of it. So that sudden, odd, wonderful sound coming from him started to make her laugh too.
"Hee... heehee! I-I'm so sorry! Heehee!"
no subject
"That wasn't quite the reaction I'd been expecting. But, at the same time, I know you were nervous about being kissed, so I can't be terribly surprised."
He fell silent for a moment before asking, "So, are you glad you got it over with?"
no subject
But an honest question deserved an honest answer, embarrassing as it was. "I'm... r-really glad we did it!"
no subject
Likewise, Xander kept smiling as they spoke.
"If you do that, you'll reach me no matter what you do."
It was at this point that he lifted one of his hands to gently stroke Olivia's cheek.
"Now that it's over with, how would you feel about another kiss? I owe you one that's much more romantic."
no subject
"... I love you, Xander."
no subject
This time, Xander held Olivia's chin between his thumb and forefinger. He lifted her head up, and leaned in and pressed his lips to hers.
This time he didn't release quickly. He held it.
