Revenge came in many forms, as far as Magica was concerned, and trapping her in a dime for years was something that warranted years of revenge in return. (Did it matter she instigated it with the blood war between their families? No.) This particular plan wasn't dignified by any means of the word, but she felt it would be worth it to see his pathetic face contort and twist in agony.
It was one of the oldest tricks in the book, as old as magic itself. She had rarely ever used it, finding love to be a disgusting matter, but now it could be useful. As a result, and her own narcissism aside, she didn't exactly read all the instructions. Like, say, how much to use for the desired effect.
She knew Scrooge likely hadn't changed his diet in the years she'd been "away", so any snacks he'd have would amount to a glass of water. Instead of lightly putting in a few drops (as was recommended by the ancient tome) she dumped the entire mixture into his glass. Bah, what did some old book know? She was Magica De Spell, sorceress supreme! All she wanted to do was humiliate him, and then enjoy the humiliation again once it wore off and Scrooge had to live with the knowledge of what he said and did.
Again, it would have been good of her to read about dosage in regards to long-lasting effects.
It took several attempts to sneak into his work office, hiding in the shadows, before she finally managed to get in. A quick transformation spell had her take on Beakly's appearance, and she knocked once before entering, calmly taking the role. "The latest stock reports, yesterday's newspapers, and your 'afternoon snack'." She listed off methodically, placing them on his desk.
