Amnesia - Donald & Daisy
Compared to Duckberg, any other city in the nation was dull as dirt. That's what Daisy believed, anyway. She loved to read about the daring adventures of Scrooge McDuck and his odd little family, and she often wished she could be a part of it. But that wasn't the life for her, so she'd have to continue her own hum-drum boring day-to-day routine.
... Or at least she was trying to, but her car had, once again, broken down. She had managed to pull over to the side of the road, nearing the very edge of town. She grumbled, getting out and giving it a good kick. "What did I ever do to you!" Daisy yelled at the object that couldn't yell back. This was sadly routine too - her car would start up again, after it cooled down, but for now she was stuck and alone.
"Ugh... why is there never anyone around when I need them?"

... Except he had already defeated himself and was laying on the ground. "...Huh?"
no subject
And that he needed some help.

"There we go!"

Once he was checked in, Daisy refused to leave. If he had no friends or family to speak of, then she would keep him company - even take him home, if he was discharged early. Still... what in the world could have happened to this poor guy?
no subject
It was a very severe case of amnesia.

She lightly knocks before walking in. "Hey, uh, 'Don'."
no subject
"Hi...uh..." He hesitates for a moment, trying to think. "You're...the one who brought me in...right?"
He thinks so anyway, but he's not entirely sure.

"Yeah...that's me, I guess," he replied, but didn't sound all too sure.
He fiddled with the blanket a bit, trying to figure out what else to say.
"...Thanks. For the uh...the help."

"Is...that okay? To let a perfect stranger stay in your house?"

"You don't have to put it that way."

"Well, uh...I guess so. Thanks."

"I guess that's fair," he grumbled, even as he reached out to shake her hand. Doesn't mean he has to like it, though.
"Did the doc say how long I was gonna be here?"

"And no clues about how I got that way, huh?"
He knew there weren't, and he wasn't asking her specifically. After all, if he didn't know, how would anyone else? But the fact that he didn't know still bothered him.

But then she reached over to touch his story. "But look... just because something's lost doesn't mean it can't be found again. Who says we have to give up right away?"
no subject
"I guess so...Thanks."
Then he managed a small smile.
"If I had to stumble into someone, I'm lucky it was someone like you."

"Adventure?"

He didn't really know his own name, but somehow that name sounded familiar.

"...Maybe? Who is he?"
no subject
She did at least allow a chuckle. "I've always been kind of jealous of him, but then, who hasn't been?"

Those names sounded even more familiar than Scrooge McDuck's. But why...why did hearing their names hurt?

That was believable, right?
