Fluttershy & Discord - Hades & Persephone

One would think that being immortal meant immortal patience as well. But this was not the case, nor would it even be again, now that she'd made an unknowing yet last impact upon his dark soul. He had to have her, and had to have her now, before any other unworthy wretch finally realized her grace and beauty. Her opinion never factored into his desires.

Now he was watching her in the sunlight, his claws digging into the trees as he hid in the shadows. If he merely appeared, he'd scare her off, so he needed to lure her into his grasp. But by all of his stalking, he knew her well enough to guess what would serve as a distraction.

With one snap of his figured, two darling, adorable little butterflies began to float about, making their way towards the damsel soon to be in distress.

"Celebrate, I say!" He clapped his hands, finally getting off the table. "An endless party to welcome your arrival! All singing, all dancing, all happiness!" Where was that music coming from? Who knew. But all the inanimate objects had been to move around.

"Oh, happy day! I've never felt so joyful in all my life... Seriously, never." He then cupped his chin, looking around. "In fact, this is the first time someone else has ever come here, in all my thousands of years."

She turned to him again, looking at him in surprise.

"Really? No one's ever visited you...ever?"

That was...really sad.

"Oh, goodness no. I mean, there's a good population of the world that doesn't know that I exist." He pointed and pushed into his own big cheeks. "At times, I've doubted that I exist! Maybe this is all on e big hallucination I dreamed up after losing what little marbles I had."

Oh, wasn't that a good idea? He jotted it down on his hand. "On to-do list, play marbles."

Her frown deepening, she turned to fully face him.

"But doesn't that get...lonely?"

She couldn't imagine what she would do without her friends.

He continued to poke and pull at his face, twisting it into different shapes and expressions.

"Lonely? No, how could I ever get lonely? I am Discord, loneliness is for lonely people! Who could ever be as amazing as I am? No one, that's who. My standards are very high."

Possibly denying it, possibly insane, who knew?

"...I see."

Maybe her worry had been misplaced after all.

"Maybe you could, um...show me around? If I'm going to be here...a while."

The thought still twisted her heart a bit, but if she could believe it would help, she could just get through it.

He finally stopped playing with his face and began to walk forward, though he still made big, wild gestures with every word. "My first time showing someone around... This will be interesting! After all, this place is constantly changing, so what can I show? It is connected to I, and I to it, as one being. I can create anything I desire, or anything you desire."

She shrank back a bit as he moved about, even as she followed behind him.

"R-Really...? So this world is...part of you?"

"Oh yes." A brief pause. "I think so, anyway. You must understand, anything I know about this place or myself is my own guess. It's not exactly like I had mama discord and papa discord come down from above to explain things." He turned around, jumping around his tail. "One day, I merely was! Isn't that exciting?"

She looked up again at him, the familiar worry seizing her once again.

"Really? You haven't had...anyone before?"

"Well, why would I?" Denial and pride showed once more. "If no one bothered to come find me, why would I bother to come find anyone? No, there was never anyone good enough who came along. So I just watched the world pass by."

"But it just seems...kind of sad. How long was it before anyone realized you existed here?"

"Oh, who knows." He twirls his fingers, making them into little flags. "In fact, I bet there's a good chance no one knows I exist still! Why, you had no idea who I was, correct? Not that I mind, no no. Who better to give you a first impression of me than me?"

"W-Well...actually, I...have heard some stories about you. There...aren't really a lot though."

At first, there was some rapid blinks in surprise. "There are stories? Really?"

But as always his moods changed instantly, and now he was twirling her around until she was sitting on a big, fluffy couch, and Discord was propped up on a backwards chair, eyes glittering. "Tell me, tell me, tell me!"

She gave a startled sound as she was suddenly seated, surprised by the soft couch. Then she looked at him curiously.

"U-Uh...well...like I said, there aren't much...But there are a few stories about the...Lord of Chaos back home...causing trouble in the world by making things nonsensical. Almost like you reversed logic itself."

"Oh, how grand." He grinned, one long tooth sticking out. "And very true! No one came to me, but I came to the world, and I did my best to make things interesting. I don't know how you can stand that boring place, where no surprises happen, and things stay the same."

"Oh, but that's not true. There are lots of surprising things in that world, and change happens all the time. Just...not quite to that degree."

"But then what else is the point?" Discord flopped his head into Fluttershy's lap. "If you're going to do something, you should go all the way. All or nothing. That's why I brought you here instead of just saying hello. That would've been so dull!"

She gasped, tensing a bit as she looked down at him.

"Not...everyone's like that, though. I...think I really would've preferred if you'd said hello, and we got to know each other a bit better."

She certainly wouldn't be as scared of him.

"... Well. Good thing it was up to me then." He rolled off her lap, and landed on the floor, not bothering to get up. "You think I don't know I don't belong out there? It's clear, it's obvious. I can't be in that place, so I had to bring you here."

She started a bit when he fell on the ground, moving so that she could lean over and see him better.

"Well...why couldn't you?"

"Because I am Lord Discord, master of chaos!" He sprang up-right into a sitting position. "Being in that world means following those rules, and I don't follow rules... I break them! I defy them! It's my very nature. You may as well ask the sun to stop shining, or the sea to turn into chocolate!"

A head-tilt. "Which I can do, by the way."

Sitting back as he jumped up, she tilted her head a little. "But...couldn't there be a way to cause chaos without scaring or hurting people? Then I'm sure you would be able to visit our world."

Discord turned her back to her, silent. His tail flicked here and there in contemplation. "... You think it would welcome my way of being, just like that? I am not like them. I am not like anything else that exists."
