Adorafluff - Presents - Percival & Galahad
Percival and Galahad were keeping their relationship low-key, or at least as low-key as they could make it. Percival didn't really want people to know her business, and she was also a little shy about the whole thing. She still didn't quite feel 'fit' for Galahad, and that perhaps he deserved someone better. But of course she'd never tell him that, as he'd deny it the whole day long.
The other day, Galahad said he wanted Percival to visit his home at a certain time, and he'd been tight-lipped about why. She wasn't sure what was going on, as it wasn't like the hedgehog to keep secrets. Was this something serious?
She arrived and knocked on his door, dressed casually, glad to be out of her armor for now. As usual, her face was stoic, her body difficult to read. One knock, two knock, three knocks.
"Galahad. Did you have need of me?"

He just wasn't sure of what to do. She said that she liked him, sure, he felt the same. But...How was he supposed to show that he cared, how did people do that? Why not choose someone else who was better suited for her.
The same question lingered on and off for some time, especially during his trips through the crowded marketplace in the lower quarter. People there roamed freely and talked openly as they went about their day. As a Knight, he could watch all the people live there lives without suspicion. It was during one of those trips where he noticed something: the girls would always light up whenever they were given a gift. It was never the same when he gave something to his father or another Knight. Perhaps that would be a good way to show he cared.
Percival had come to the city in rags of clothings. Perhaps she would light up just the same with such gifts.
She arrived a couple days after the invitation. Galahad approached the door, smoothed out his gray tunic once, then opened the door. "Good morning." He bowed his head. "I was hoping that you could accompany me to the marketplace today?" He was quick to add. "If you have the time."
no subject
"My day is free." She nodded once. "I can go right now, if you wish it."

Galahad exited his house and clicked the door shut behind him. "There's something in town that requires your attention." Hopefully that sound convincing enough... "I thought that it would be better to take you there to see firsthand rather than explain."
no subject
"Show me where." She said quickly. "If it's this important, I don't want to waste any time."

He lead her to the lower square where crammed stores littered each side of the walkway. He'd ordered several tailor made dresses at one of the seamstresses shops. Galahad wasn't sure of the dress size..but the girl behind the counter--a cat--claimed she could get the measurements of anyone. ...Somehow.
"In here." He held the door open so she could enter first. Manners.

Galahad led her to a shop - so this must be where the danger is! Percival balled her hands into fists, and ran in, expecting a confrontation. "Stop where you are!"
no subject
"W-wait! Stop!" He slipped into the shop and put himself between Percival and the dress maker. "I..um.." He glanced back to the counter, where the little yellow cat bounded off to retrieve a stack of hand-sewn dresses that she placed on the counter before ducking half under it.
"There's nothing wrong. I just wanted to.." He grabbed the neatly folded dresses and held them out. "...Here."
no subject
Another rarity for Percival was blushing deeply, and that's exactly what she did - she could even feel heat on her ears, that's how red she was turning. When she finally found her voice, she couldn't even look Galahad in the eyes. "Wh... what's going on...?"
no subject
His voice quieted. "You don't have to accept them, but I thought it would be nice if...someone thought you were important enough to.." He wasn't even sure what he was trying to say.
no subject
"N-No, I..." She mumbled. "I'll take them." As if they were made out of fine china instead of fabric, she slowly and gently took the dresses into her arms, pressing them close to her chest. "They're... beautiful, Galahad. They really are."
no subject
"There are a couple more stops in town I needed to make. Would you like to come with me?" No, he didn't plan on stopping at just dresses. Percival would be spoiled by the days end, and hopefully he'd get to see her smile too.
no subject
"Huh? ... Oh, um, sure." She nodded slowly. Percival didn't realize this was only the start of the gift-giving, and merely thought he'd gotten this out of the way. "Wherever you need to go, it's fine."

no subject
"Don't... don't spend too much on me. This is already more than I deserve."

She clung to her new clothes even tighter. "...I'll take good care of these. And wear them often. I promise."
no subject
"I know you will." Taking care of them and wearing what he'd gotten her was never a concern.
"But..clothes are a necessity. As are many other things." Maybe not all of what he likely would end up buying for her would be necessary, granted. "You don't have to worry about the future so much to deprive yourself of things that you need. You have The Knighthood and..me to help you should you ever need it."
He stopped at a booth to fidget with some of the vendors wears so he wouldn't have to look directly at Percival as he said what he wanted. This stand sold necklaces and pendants. Perhaps there would be something that he could find which would be fitting? "Even if something were to happen in the future, we would never let one of our own suffer without helping."
no subject
Since she couldn't hold his hand or even take his arm, she had to make due with leaning on him, her bright red face hiding in his white quills. She didn't care how she looked. If the whole day was going to be like this, she'd need time to rest and relax, or she just might faint!
no subject
"...?" He gave her a questioning glance, both for the look on her face and the action in and of itself. "Did I say something wrong?"
no subject
Since words were currently unavailable, she went another route to express herself. After a quick glance around - before deciding to damn the consequences if people were looking - she very quickly leaned in and kissed his lips.
no subject
What he didn't expect was for her to do was what she did When Galahad felt her lips brush against his he immediately backed off--a few steps back, in fact, until he bumped into the stand that sat behind him. "I'm .. I-I'm sorry." He put a hand to his mouth. No one had ever tried to show him that kind of attention, and to have it out of the blue was jarring. It had to have been an accident. "I didn't mean..to."
no subject
"I just wanted to thank you." She finally said, her voice returning to a somewhat normal tone. "But if this is how you react, I'll make sure to warn you next time."
no subject
"It's surprised me because..That's not how you normally thank me. Part of me still thinks of you as a teacher rather than a.. mm..Someone I like very much." He couldn't find the proper word. "I think this is something else that you will have to teach me how to do." Just because he'd liked Percival didn't mean he knew how to proceed...thus the whole shopping excursion. It wasn't as if his Father and Mother had been good role models for relationships.
Galahad sighed and ducked his head down as he held out the necklace and chain he'd yet to give to her. "Here..."
no subject
"We're in this together. It's all right to feel inexperienced... neither of us are perfect. We'll learn together, step by step."
no subject
"Perhaps, like in training, we should set some rules for that particular time." His face turned flush. "Ladies.. don't look at me the way that you do. I'm not sure what is okay and what isn't. Or what to expect."
