[Fenton & Morgana] + [Fenton & Della] = Fenton's Life Continues To Get Weirder

[ While Morgana still didn't really think herself as a hero, she was still actively trying to be a Good Person. It wasn't easy, and it was often a struggle not to fall into bad habits, but she was trying her best. Having Darkwing, Gosalyn, and Launchpad's support was wonderful, but she wanted her circle to get even bigger. And what better way to make your boyfriend proud of you than by being friends with his friends? And a perfect opportunity had arrived to seek Fenton out!

During her last concert, Morgana had... gotten a little too into her music, let's say, and it wound up with her speakers exploding. While she knew the ins and outs of her own guitar, her forte was magic, not mechanics. And surely the genius inventor Fenton (as Drake had described!) would know how to fix her equipment! And maybe make it better than ever!

Alas, monster society and mortal society tended to differ when it came to certain social norms. For example, a mortal would think to politely knock at that person's front door, or ask a friend for their number. But monsters were pretty much used to hanging outside of people's windows and knocking on the glass to ask for permission to enter. Not that she needed permission because she was a vampire or anything. A-hem.]

[Della]

[ Della tended to avoid Gyro's laboratory, mostly to... avoid Gyro. But he was away for a week for his own nerd reasons, but he'd also taken along Little Bulb and Manny, which meant most of the daily grunt work was left to Fenton. Days ago, Della had happily volunteered to help Fenton in whatever he needed. But since that day, something had happened. Something that had completely soured Della's mood.

So while she kept her word, carrying this and that around the lab, cleaning up, doing whatever Fenton asked, she did so with an annoyed expression on her face. Every so often, she could be heard muttering something. ] 

Razza frazza Darkwing... razza frazza braggart... razza frazza incredibly hot rock-star monster girlfriend...

[ It probably doesn't help that it's late enough at night that Fenton is getting ready to turn in. With the light to his room off, the knock at his window startles him a bit, and as he turns he can only make out a shadowy figure just....there, face pressed up against the glass.

And he has to cover a scream, if only so he wouldn't wake his mother up. ]

Della

[ While Fenton had been fairly confident that he could handle the lab during Gyro's absence, he had been appreciative of Della's help. He tried not to ask her for too much, not too comfortable with bossing her around. It had been mostly simple tasks, things that he couldn't get to while dealing with a few more time-sensitive tests.

He couldn't help but notice that she seemed a bit...testy, though. He wasn't entirely sure if it was his place to ask, but as he was passing by her he can't help picking up some of her mumbling, and he slowed in his tracks. ]

...Hey, uh...everything all right?

[ It also probably doesn't help that what little light there is might reflect all the fangs in her grin, and that she's hanging upside-down like a vampire not that she's a vampire.

Anyway, oblivious to the heart attack she's given him, Morgana just cheerfully waves now that she has his attention! ]

Hiii~! You're Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera, right?

... Everything is fine.

[ When has anyone ever said that and had that been the truth? Genre-savvy as Della is, she knows that doesn't come across as anything reassuring. ]

... I don't suppose a certain caped crusader who needs a kick in the... butt, has stopped by lately?

[doctorintern]

[ Once he's managed to calm down enough, he does at least realize that she's...not doing anything besides just hanging there. So his panic gives way to confusion as he scoots closer to the window and opens it. ]

Uh...yes? Can I...help you?

[doctorintern]

[ He's glad that she's at least self-aware enough, because he had never been more unconvinced of anything.

But her question has him even more puzzled, because it felt a bit...random. ]

Well, uh...if you mean Darkwing Duck, then yeah actually, he visited recently. Why?

[ Hoo boy. She then drops what she's doing - hope it wasn't valuable! - and goes right up to Fenton. ]

Did he also whine about his first world problems to you?! "Oh, boo hoo, my rockstar monster villain girlfriend is too hot! She's too beautiful! Woe is me!"

I hope so! Drake darling - I mean, uh, Mallard - said you're the best when it comes to tech!

[ She then thrusts her hand out at him! ]

I'm his girlfriend, Morgana McCawber!

[doctorintern]

[ He winces as she drops the experiment she'd been holding, but he doesn't have time to dwell on that as Della gets right up in his face, and Fenton can't help instinctively taking a step back to keep some room between them. ]

Well, uh...I wouldn't say whining exactly? He'd been asking for some advice about his relationship.

So he, uh, talked to you about it too, huh?

[doctorintern]

[ It's a good thing that his bed is up against the wall, otherwise he would have fallen off the edge of it. As it is, the surprising revelation does almost cause him to fall off the other side, but he manages to catch himself. ]

O-Oh! Wow, it's you! [ While Drake had mentioned her, Fenton hadn't really expected to ever meet her. Especially without Drake. But he still takes her hand, not wanting to be rude. ] Yeah, uh...Hi! It's...nice to meet you.

I guess, uh...come in? [ Having his friend's girlfriend in his room in the middle of the night feels weird, but talking to her as she hangs upside down at his window is a bit weirder. ]

Oh, puh-leeze! He was just plain old BRAGGING! Rubbing it in our faces that somehow, someway, he got this vampire... succubus... siren... SOMETHING HOT to be his girlfriend!

[ CLEARLY, THAT'S WHAT HE WAS DOING. She pouts and crosses her arms, looking away. ]

Did he tell you the whole long impossible story too?

[ After the handshake with her definitely-not-cold hand, she begins to crawl inside - she's also a lot taller than he was probably expecting too, once she stands to full height inside. ]

Drake's told me so much about you! I don't know how much he's said about me - [ and it's taking everything in her not to ask! ] but I'm a musician in need of some help. You see... during my latest concert, my speakers became totally busted. And I can't exactly afford to go out and buy new ones...

[ She clasps her hands together, pleading! ]

... So it'd really help me out if you could at least take a look at them?

Um... [ Fenton somehow doubts that was really the case. The caped crusader had sounded less like he was bragging and more like he was really anxious about potentially screwing up this new relationship. At least when Drake had come to see him, but he couldn't think of any reason why he would be trying to rub having a relationship in Della's face. ]

Yeah, he mentioned something about a concert because Gosalyn is a fan of her music, and then a crime spree? Then he had convinced her to turn her life around and she helped him stop her former bandmates.

[ Essentially she's a former criminal that is now trying to do good. Fenton didn't really see how that was impossible. ]

[doctorintern]

[ He can't help a little shiver as she shakes her hand - is that normal? Her poor circulation! Then he scoots back a little as she enters, and...wow, she is tall. ]

Oh yeah, he mentioned that you were a musician. He told me how you both met. [ He offers a smile. ] I'm really happy for you two. Drake's been pretty happy since you two started dating.

[ He hesitates a bit, because speakers weren't really the kind of electronics that he's familiar with. But he didn't want to turn her away either. ]

Well, uh...I don't mind taking a look. I can't make any promises about how well I'll be able to fix them, though.

Did he spend three solid minutes describing her eye color? They're green! Just green!

[ Phooey! She huffs and puffs more, like a wolf ready to blow a house down. She then eyes Fenton a bit... ]

... Of course you wouldn't mind. You also got some kinda cute bad girl to turn to good. I bet you two were just laaaaughing it up, all about how easy it was to scoop up some villainesses!

[ Not that she cares. She doesn't care. LOOK HOW HARD SHE'S NOT CARING. ]

[ Oh boy - she suddenly springs into that subject swerve, eyes glittery and practically squealing, hands on her cheeks. Any cool and intimidating aura she might have just evaporates when it comes to talking about her boyfriend. ]

Really? He is? Pretty happy? Oooh~! Ohmygooosh~! Oh, I hope he didn't talk your ears off! He's just the sweetest!

[ Outside, a flock of bats are carrying speakers into Fenton's backyard. Reread that sentence. It's still happening. It's gunna be a weird night. ]

[doctorintern]

[ He opens his beak to respond, then snaps it back shut. Fenton knows that he doesn't have too much experience with interpersonal relationships, but something about this conversation seemed weird even to him. ]

Della, what's going on? All that anger can't really just be about Darkwing getting a girlfriend, can it?

[doctorintern]

[ Fenton can't help leaning back a little when Morgana suddenly just starts gushing. He can almost just see the little hearts that are floating around her head, and while he wasn't sure what he had been expecting when DW told him about her, it certain isn't this.

He's only a little distracted by the movement outside, and he glances out the window just in time to see the bats carrying the speakers. What is he getting himself into right now? ]

Y-Yeah, uh...I mean, he didn't tell me too much, other than the basics, but from what I could tell he really likes you.

[ He almost mentions DW coming to him for advice, but decides against it. Somehow he has a feeling that Drake wouldn't really want her knowing that. ]

So, uh...you said something about speakers, right?

Angry? Who says I'm angry? I'M PERFECTLY FINE WITH YOU TWO HAVING HOT, CUTE GIRLFRIENDS WHILE I'M SINGLE!

[ HOW DARE YOU ACCUSE HER OF BEING ANGRY. Her snapping a piece of the table she was holding onto is sheer coincidence, really! ]

[ What would have sounded like a girly giggle from anyone else sounds more like a witch's demonic cackling from her. But the mention of the speakers gets her to stop that unholy sound, thank goodness, and she straightens up. ]

Oh, right, of course! My famili-er, pets should be dropping it off right about now.

[ She definitely wasn't going to say familiars like some sort of sorceress.

And drop it off they do, with a THUD in the backyard. Morgana happily waves at them. ]

[ .....yes, because that is totally the reaction of a non-angry person. ]

Della.

[ Look, he's willing to listen and help out, but you gotta be up front with him. ]

[doctorintern]

[ Well that isn't suspicious or anything.

Honestly, between the laugh and the bats, Fenton isn't really sure what to address first. Fortunately the sound of the speakers hitting the ground saves him for the moment. ]

Well, uh...I guess we better go take a look.

[ He's just gonna.......sliiiiiiiiiiiiiiide scoot a couple inches away from her and get off the bed to grab some tools on his desk. ]

[ Okay, yeah, she's aware of how unconvincing that was. She quietly tries to pat the table piece back into place, but it falls to the ground with a tiny thud. She twiddles her thumbs, then inhales deeply. ]

We all know how much I missed my family, and I wouldn't give my time with the boys away for anything. I live a very fulfilling, exciting life others only dream about. Every day, I am surrounded by people who care about me, and I'm off to have adventures that exceed my wildest expectations.

That being said...

[ She throws her upper body on the table, sort-of wailing. ]

WHY DON'T I HAVE ANY SEXY VILLAIN CHICKS TRYING TO SEDUCE ME?! I have valuable knowledge! I'm a hero! I wouldn't give anything away, BUT I'D LIKE THEM TO TRY! PENNY WENT ON A DATE WITH LAUNCHPAD, AND SHE DOESN'T EVEN LIKE EARTH MEN!

[ Jealousy has reared its ugly head. And it's very, very ugly. ]

[ She puts her attention on him, but lets him have his space, cheerfully watching him. ]

Of course! I've heard so much about your technical prowess! All the good you do for the world's richest duck, your incredible inventions, doing all that work for that hack Gizmoduck...

[ Yep, this is Darkwing's girlfriend, all right. ]

... Winning over a former villain...

[ That last one is said a bit quietly, pushing her fingers together. Maybe, just maybe, this wasn't all about the speakers. ]

[doctorintern]

[ Theeeeeeeeeeere it is. He isn't expecting it to be quite so explosive (though honestly, he doesn't know why he wasn't expecting it), but he's glad that she's letting it out. But it takes him a moment to realize who she's talking talking about specifically. ]

Penny? She's one of the Moonlanders, right?
