He grunted, barely catching himself as he stumbled forward. But once he righted himself, he took a deep breath to try and steady himself before slowly walking over to stand beside her chair.
“I don’t...really remember,” he muttered. “It’s been a long time...I don’t even know when I last saw her.”
And actually, he wasn’t sure if that was the real truth, or another lie to protect someone else. There were so many lies, it was hard to keep track of them all.
