He would never tell her that - could never tell her that - but he hated it. He hated her, he hated that she had used him, he hated that he didn’t know where his family was (after he had given himself up to save them, she had sent them somewhere so that he could never see them again), he hated how the world was under her ruling, he hated lying and pretending to love her because he was afraid of what she would do - to him, to his family, even to his ex-girlfriends - if he spoke the truth.
But what he hated most of all...was that he didn’t hate it as much as he maybe should have? Because as terrible as things were, and as twisted as she was, keeping him as little more than a pet....there were moments where she seemed more like her Abby guise - back when he actually had liked her, because he didn’t know better. And he could never tell if she was really like that, if she really cared about him, or if she was just playing with him, like she had been that led to all this in the first place.
And maybe, more than anything, he hated himself for not being sure.
